A very nice video on the lessons in Indian history! It is always very nice to revisit the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This fort is in a very scenic location and is vast and quite interesting. There are many interesting stories about the Maratha rulers which we learnt in history. One interesting fact which many may not know about the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji is that one of his main Generals was General Ratanjiba, a Parsi. Chhatrapati Shivaji was so pleased with the bravery of General Ratanjiba that he gifted him 100 villages, the main village being Tarapore which gave them the family name. General Ratanjiba’s great great grandson was Param Vir Chakra recipient Lt. Col. Ardeshir Tarapore (of the Poona Horse regiment) who was martyred during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. He was the hero of the tank battle at Chawinda-Phillora. So it is true that history repeats itself. There are many forts in and around Pune which are true remembrances of Maratha history! This video depicts one such wonderful fort.
