The bulb (or I assume) went out quite some time ago. I have finally gotten around to trying to replace it. I took the lens off and the bulb. I noticed the lens is cracked so was considering replacing that as well as the bulb. There was some cotton around the threads of the lens and i was wondering if that cotton material is necessary?
What causes this type of issue? I have the same discoloration on my socket but it still works. I did notice the the socket was pushed towards the inside a little. I pushed it back in place and will move the the tabs open. Should i replace my socket or should that be good enough?
Our is 1 year old, and that glass is stuck, can't open it at all in order to change the bulb. Very stupid design with threads, metal bracket over the glass is much faster and better.
