I still remember his deubt in The Avengers animated TV series as Hyperion pretended he is a superman just like his counterpart Superman but The Avengers worked out Hyperion is a super villian who kills and murders an entire civilization just to get what he wants.. i love his fight with The Hulk..
It's an archetype and seeing how Superman was clearly the first superhero being made in 1938 (Technically), made this trope. Why Hyperion though? Is it because he is is evil? Complicated? I don't see the appeal.

Hyperion is my favorite Superman-like character...i like him more than Blue Marvel,than Sentry,than Superman,than every character from that type.
