One tip I'd give is to mark the board with pen/chalk/whiteboard rather than with automatic scorers. It'll help with your counting within the game. Pay attention to how good players take out scores also.
One of my favorite drills which helped raise my average from 60 to 67 is to start at 121 and if I finish in 6 darts I move to 122 and so on. If I don't finish in 6 darts, I go to 120 and have to finish in 6 darts to get back to 121.
one thing that helped me MASSIVLY is practicing with shoes on. I ALWAYS wear the same shoes because in a game like darts you need to be very precise, if your going from practicing with no shoes to playing in inch high shoes you will constantly go above the treble. no, you might not think its a big difference. but in a game like darts, IT IS! so get your shoes on!
I remeber when I first started playing I just played finishing games with my dad. I learned to finish before I could score, once you know which ways to go finishing the scoring will come over time, once you know you can finish you’ll save a lot on the average instead of wasting darts going the wrong ways
I am a firm believer that if I can hit a treble 20, I can hit a double which is way bigger. I do practice them a bit but not that much. It is the one part of my game that is quite solid. I am also a 60 average.
@@ryanswiggs lol had my first one after 2 weeks and over 700 after a year now. Seems like its not normal when i hear everyone else but i did practice for around 3-8 hours a day for a whole year, every day
Ha, I just realised this today as well! I was playing at a friend's house and wondered if his board was hanging a bit too low. But I was wearing shoes and at home I don't. It really makes a difference.
I am totally wearing Socks at Home!!! And outside my Dartshoes are Barefoot-Shoes with a ultra thin layer, absolute no difference and its much more healthy to walk barefoot instead of wearing shoes the whole day
@DartDays oh thats not a good idea than 🤣 im using a winmau plasma 360° and it helps sooo much, so if you are ever going to place it on a wall 😎 good luck bud!
Thanks mate I’m going to make a RUclips channel like you the darts ref and dart postie the first series I’m going to do is the 301 in 12 darts but I’m not very good so this is going to help a lot 😂
been watching a while but thought i'd say that im enjoying the vids george, im probably a mid 50s average myself but my setup is awful, ive got no scolia (not that its needed, but would be ideal for the games and scoring etc) no fixed oche, not a huge fan of my darts even tho ive not lost a leg in the league yet somehow, ive got no light on my board. its tragic but im too stubborn to splash the money on a good setup haha
Honestly i would reccommend AGAINST a scolia, pure due to the fact that you'd practice your calculation skills aswell. You'd be training your setup shots and creating more chances to win if you go the right ways.
I'm glad I'm going in the right way with these already (I'm at about 50 avg, 55 on a good day), 1) I'm lucky my dad had some 25g Harrows Assassins from before I was even born, I've picked them up and my grip is perfect (I hold it like a pen pretty much) 2) I'm just about to buy a light, 3) I've got my routines but they aren't set to times, more just set to feeling, 4) I'm also having to use a trusty rug as my oche and wanting to get a proper oche so I don't have to piss about with moving the rug, 5) I've been doing bull training for the grouping, it's not great but it's better than it was, 6) and glad I'm working on doubles, it's all well and good hitting 180s but the doubles are where the games won, and 7) I've only had 1 frustrating night of darts but that was my 2nd ever league game and lost quite badly 😂

one of my practice routines I like is around the board with a twist. have to hit all 3 darts in the same number before moving on
Yes, I’ve done the same.

Good tips mate
Use some velcro strips and some wood for an oche on carpet👍
Thanks for the tips I’m
Already improving just aiming for the big twenty when scoring . Appreciate this 💚✌️
Wow thankyou Stephen you didn't have to do that! Hope your game improves quickly mate! All the best.

Don’t drop your shoulder or elbow (feel the arc). Less movement the better.

Great advice!
Some great top tips there! 👌
I PLAY OUTSIDE AND HIT MY FIRST 180 TWO DAYS AGO
congrats! I hit my first 180 2 months ago, and have had 3 since! still so many shots spraying left n right though

great video this george! some great advise
My man cheers Bryn!
love i mate well done
Cheers mate
Bobs 27, just once a day makes a lot of difference
I use littlers gen 1. Since the day i have them ive trown 21 180s only with those and a ton of dpuble treble visits
I will give you a tip and everyone else. Do not practice in your socks. No one plays a game like that and you will be getting the height right
I always play in socks but I'm going to try now to see if it makes a difference with shoes

Important tip is buying an 360° light surround... the 20 is not the only important part of a board 😊 costs little more but it is so much better
Genuinely I’m not sure my wall will hold any more weight haha. Board is on my door you see

@@DartDays Target Corona Vision latches onto the dartboard with a magnet. Only downside i can think of is, that there might be even too much light 😅
Good video, great tips
👊🏻
Since when are 60 avg dart players "not great"? :(

Appreciate it👊🏻

Glad you enjoyed it
Least I’m not the only one that uses 4 fingers and a thumb
There’s a line in where our carpet was fitted and that is my oche line😂😂
All been there🤣
