Queen is queen they were on a different level. And then there's Freddie. Freddie was in a class of his own. The amount of talent that Freddie had can never be matched. He was from another planet. R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU WE HEAR YOU SINGING FROM HEAVEN
At the end of the concert at 9:48 Freddie and Brian come back to the stage and perform Is This The World We Created (not written for this benefit concert but perfectly suited). You can find the video of it separately.
HI Alex! THANK YOU for the reaction to Queen & Freddie.... Just FYI, this video does NOT show how the 20-minute set actually ends. (NOT your fault, of course.) The particular video you chose/reacted to, just happens to be the one-and-only "corrupted"/CUT SHORT copy that's been circulating on YT for awhile now, of Queen's Live Aid video. (I WISH I knew how to get the uploader to take it down, I would! ...I've lost count of how many reactors have watched it, just to get to the end and wonder "What happened?!?" And sadly - because so many folks have watched it - it stays right up at the TOP of YT's search algorithm.) Anyway... Just FYI, there ARE several other COMPLETE copies of the Queen 20-minute Live Aid video on YT, some REMASTERED/UPGRADED with even better HD. If you want to see the last song in its entirety, HERE IS A LINK from official Live Aid channel, with the COMPLETE final song “We Are The Champions”… all the way to the PROPER end of the performance: ruclips.net/video/FP808MiJUcM/видео.htmlsi=7LjIMfPaXBRDgr1K
Yes, and there seem to be some skip edits (beyond the ending cut off). Tragic really when it has been around since 1985 and deserves a listen in all its glory.
Unfortunately you picked the wrong video, the one you need to watch is the one with the 2 English comedians dressed as policemen introducing Queen, this one doesn’t cut out at the end! Great reaction, thank you! More Queen pls! Liked & subscribed! If you haven’t already done so pls do Somebody To Love live in Montreal,it’s amazing! Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
The shortest sound check ever. Drum, Bass, Guitar and Freddie turned the Piano up a bit. Live Aid was dying on it's feet, then Queen came on, followed by Bowie who was also brilliant.
OMG, I've seen hundreds of reactions to many artists, including my Dahhhling Freddie and you ROCKED THIS REACTION. HAD ME SINGING AND DANCING AND TOTALLY ENJOYING YOUR REACTION. THANK YOU❤🌈 PS: Thanks for sharing that awesome experience with the cab driver in Italy. Sooooo kewl!!!
That was such an awesome reaction... You actually made me believe you were born too late to bee part of this concert, but given a time machine, would have given everything now to be part of it. Your excitement and passion is exactly what Queen wanted from their fans. That is why they always tried to include them in their songs. They made their fans feel like they were part of the band.
72,0000 people at Wembley, another 100,000 in Philadelphia, and 1,2 billion watching on TV globally. The Olympics have 3 satellites...Live Aid had 13. I wasn't a Queen fan at all, but after that day..I was lol! The world for Africa! I remember it was very hot that day in Wembley Stadium July 13th 1985 but it was worth it, best day in my life! 👏👏🇳🇱
Love it! I just wanted to mention that, since you saw the movie and are clearly a Queen fan, it was FAR from a documentary and very inaccurate. Freddie didn't know of his diagnosis here, for example, and wouldn't for another two years; he was diagnosed in 1987, after their European Magic tour in 1986. The band also hadn't split up or been on hiatus before this (the movie made it seem like it was crazy they would perform together again after so long) - they'd just finished a HUGE stadium tour in South America a couple of months prior to Live Aid. Freddie wasn't the first to go solo, either - Roger had TWO solo albums by the time Freddie recorded Mr. Bad Guy - and, though there was a bit of tension over Freddie's large advance, they weren't estranged because of it. Roger even sang backup for Freddie's solo album and dressed in drag for the music video for "Great Pretender". Though there was some tension in the early 80s caused by Paul Prenter (a bad influence on Freddie, as the movie portrayed) and most members hated the album Hot Space since it was like club music, Queen never broke up. Some of those songs have aged well, by the way! There's been a resurgence of love for "Cool Cat", and "Under Pressure" came off that album, too. Not all bad! They each pursued their own things, but they always stayed together and knew they'd come back and make more albums. They were especially close after Freddie became ill, and became like family. Roger currently has a statue of Freddie in his garden, and Brian still sometimes gets teary when performing "Love of My Life" in concert; a video of Freddie is always shown at the end, and Brian gestures to him to sing the rest of the song. Essentially: They were closer than the movie made it seem. There's a great interview with Freddie (called the "Musical Prostitute" interview, haha, from 1984) wherein he describes much of this, even going so far as to say "Most people thought I'd go solo and the band would break up, but Roger has two solo albums already" (or something along those lines) and commented that they "Weren't bad, for four aging queens". Keep in mind that this interview was conducted in 1984, a time during which the movie depicted the band as fractured. In reality, they were planning a huge tour, proving that they were still together as Freddie was recording his solo album. It's on RUclips, and I'd highly recommend it! There's also a cool clip of Freddie, before singing "Who Wants to Live Forever" live at Wembley in 1986, in which he shut down rumors that Queen would break up and claimed that they'd stay together until they "f**king well died". I just think this is all important to know! The movie had wonderful acting, but did Queen (especially Freddie) a grave injustice in its portrayal of the facts.
if Hot Space never came out Another One Bites The Dust doesnt happen & Michael Jackson doesnt get inspired to make Thriller Freddie wuz a real one standin by John n gettin tha record on tha album cuz it gets tha most hate
@@XxThePhantomFreezexX I definitely agree with the sentiment but Another One Bites the Dust came out earlier, in 1980, on "The Game" album. Michael did convince them to release the single and I definitely do think it inspired him, though! There are some similarities in Billie Jean for sure! And yep, Freddie and John worked together a lot, especially on Cool Cat - that was just the two of them, since Brian and Roger hated it, haha.
I'm glad that you mentioned this. I often want to when reading comments after a reactor mentions the movie. It appears that this is yet another cut up video of Live Aid that have been going around RUclips lately. Sad for those who have never viewed the whole set uncut.
Yes, Lauren! everything you said.. I actually think that 1981 Montreal was a superior concert.. it's been released in IMAX, but in such a limited release, I can't find it anywhere in the midwest.. yet... I hope they expand it!
I don’t know we’re this horrible video came from but look for another one. Please watch the encore Freddie and Brian did, they did Is This The World We Created, just a beautiful song.
Loved the reaction….watching you sing the lyrics shows you’ve listened to the vinyl many times. I think you might really enjoy an early Queen song called Liar performed at the Rainbow. It also really showcases how talented they all were.
Este concierto lo veo siempre por vídeo, uno de los mejores hasta hoy en día. QUEEN hizo magia con esa voz limpia y poderosa de este hermoso frontman, Freddie Mercury . 👑🌍⭐️🧚♂️💛🥰
I have to say, after so many reactions I’ve watched (after growing up with Queen music (yes, my generation was so very lucky, and we know it) your reaction is so much like ours was, they were one of a kind, and I am so happy to see you enjoy and appreciate them so much!
Love this but I’m more impressed with the song “ the show must go on” recorded it dying literally.. that song hits me hard every time I hear it .. queen was awesome 💯🤘🤘
ACK!!! You got the wrong video, this one cuts off at the end which is such a buzz-kill but how would you know unless someone told you, right? Anyway, incredible set by Queen, Freddie and the boys got that stadium rockin' The crowd was between 72,000 and 80,000 depending on who you listened to. I think Freddie is actually pushing back the cameramen so he can work the whole stage. Other acts didn't do that so they were crowding Freddie and he wasn't appreciating it. He liked to get as close as he could to the whole audience. At 9:48 PM, Brian and Freddie cam back out as part of the encore portion of the show and performed the song "Is This The World We Created."
@alexb I love this...The inspiration for the song RADIO GA GA came when Roger Taylor heard his son utter the words "radio ca-ca" while listening to a bad song on the radio while they were in Los Angeles. 😂❤ xx hydie..awesome
The last song cuts out because whomever edited this version cut Freddie's voice breaking a bit on the final "champions" of the song. There are versions of this concert out there with it left in - I didn't think the break was a big deal, especially with all the stories you hear on how messed up his throat was going into Live Aid. I took a quick skim of the comments - if someone points this out further down, sorry for repeating.
I love QUEEN 👑...did you know that when they went on a SOMEONE turned up the volume only on QUEENS set and it was so loud they definitely STOLE the show..fact...Also this was when Freddie knew he was sick and had a sore throat..but you couldn't tell...I a ride or die fan...broke my heart when Freddie passed...I still have a hard time listening to MOTHER LOVE..😢 New sub and I'm absolutely loving your reactions and channel..🎶 xx hydie
It gives me chills to see how the fans are so into him and they will do anything he says he controls the croud...every one was one...Radio Gaga will never age! Best concert ever seen was Queen 👑 ❤🎉
Nothing awkward about Our Freddie . Yes , he was shy , but a Genius And an incredible human being . Stop referring to the movie . It was not a documentary and all false facts . It didn’t depict Freddie , or the boys whatsoever. Loved your comments .
Thanks, Alex.. music brings us all together.. haven't checked our all of your reactions, but hope you have some from the 1981 live in Montreal.. which I think was even better than this.. they had so many limitations on time & equipment here... ("Radio Gaga was a Roger Taylor song. my particular favorite is "Somebody to Love".. and my very first rock-star crush was Brian May.. I still love geriatric Brian.. lol) Hope to hear more from you... (p.s. saw the movie, of course, but being such a long-time fan, I was critical of the timeline & some of the story.. I had the privilege to see them live three times 1978-81... unforgettable!)
Freddie ne buvait jamais d'alcool en concert. De même pour les autres membres du groupe. Freddie était très respectueux du public et de la musique... La bière, c'était pour la publicité. En concert il buvait du thé avec du miel et/ou du citron..
The guy makes fine comments but we already know Queen blew everyone away to a worldwide audience that many didn't watch too see them, including that audience, the greatest 20 mins in live music history
Sorry, just found you; so, I’m late to the Comment Section! I’m a 66 y/o Glamma. You seem to enjoy the background of things. And, I’m a Trivia sponge, so here goes: They had just completed a Tour a month b4. So, they went & rented a Stadium to practice the performance. He ended up with a Throat Infection & the Doctor highly recommended he not do it bc he might lose his musical ability. He said no! Can you tell he had a severe throat infection? Most people think he was drinking booze from the cups bc on the piano. He’s drinking Honey & Tea. His command of the Audience was more than coincidence it was miraculous. Considering there were so many people there the sound was getting absorbed through them. So the people @ the back we’re following his hand gestures bc the actual sound hadn’t even reached them b4 the next sound was coming @ them. Go back & watch what his hands are doing & what the Audience is doing. NEXT: Radio Gaga is celebrating Radio bc M-TV is just getting started. LADY GAGA was a huge Freddie Fam growing up, so That was where she came up with HER STAGE NAME! You have to listen to the words to really understand the meaning. Most of us didn’t have a clue what a Band looked like unless we saw them in Person! NEXT-MICROPHONE. At sometime along the way a Microphone Stand broke, so that was the only spilt second solution they could come up with. He realized the freedom he had to move, dance, & engage the Audience. NEXT MICHAEL JACKSON & ELVIS CONNECTION on Song THING CALLED LOVE: It was written as his homage to Elvis-Freddie was a big fan. But, he just wasn’t sure about the song bc he didn’t want to taint Elvis. SO, he played it for Michael J. (Yes, they were friends!). And Michael told him he HAD TO, he said “Freddie, you have to”! (Can’t you just see that!?). NEXT FREDDIE’s VOICE. HE HAD 4 extra teeth so that’s the reason he had such an overbite. He had the ability to naturally flow from Octave to Octave. It was a natural progression, for him. SCIENTIFICALLY: Test were done on his Voice. He was able to use his Throat muscles on either side of his vocal cords. Which is normally seen in some Opera Singers. His Vocal Range was from Low Bass F, to High Soprano F! They were extremely surprised to find out that he could go from about 92Hz to 784Hz, effortlessly! See ACTUAL REPORT BELOW: nyone who has listened to a Queen track knows that Freddie has a unique ability that still has not been truly replicated since. His ability to blend highs, lows and mid range notes cohesively and with immense precision. This skill was due to the fact that Freddie was able to create faster vibrato and harmonics than any other singer at the time. Not only this, he was able to shift through registers effortlessly. Although he naturally held a baritone voice, he primarily sang as a tenor and of course had no problem then shifting into soprano parts. One study on Freddie’s vocal range even confirmed that he was able to vary from about 92.2 Hz to 784 Hz, meaning he was reliably able to hit notes from the booming low of F#2 to the high pitch G5 - that covers a full three octaves! LAST FUN FACT: His Lead Guitarist is playing on a Guitar he & his Father made. When he first starting to learn they were too poor to afford a high end guitar. So, they just made one! The included some “extras” that would normally have to be separate instruments to get all those features (think Concerts when you see guitarist changing Guitars depending on the Song….that’s why he didn’t)! I’m sorry to take up your Valuable Time, and I thank you. You need anymore Trivia I’m your G’Ma go to. My Brain is full, especially with music, & believe it or not Sports! (When he is waving his arm it is to tell the cameramen which way he is going bc he’s moving around so much. And, “We Will Rock You”, is actually a Prelude to “We Are The Champions”. It is actually all 1 Song!) LEAD GUITARIST: Brian May’s family couldn’t afford a Guitar so he & his Dad made it from an old Cabinet. Because they were making it there are a lot of extra features that he wanted. It is truly a “one of a kind”!
😢😱 Wrong video. There is a perfect video where it isn’t CUT OFF !! You MUST watch it! Life Changing 💥⚡️✨👑👑👑I probably won’t be the only one telling you this ( just looking out for you 😂✌🏼 )
Nice reaction. Don’t just listen to Queen’s greatest hits. They made so much eclectic and unique music that you will totally miss out. Start with early Queen 1 in the mid 1970’s to the final album Made In Heaven which was released after Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991. Over 200 songs plus and Freddie co-wrote an opera album and sang it with opera soprano diva Monserrat Caballe of Spain. Best band with the God of rock lead singers. These guys were true professional musicians that rehearsed, wrote, played, and performed their own music. Each member wrote hit songs. They have music that appeals to metal, classic rock, jazz, blues, gospel, R&B, soul, and their own styles. They can’t be put in a genre because they are Queen. Shame this concert was so heavily edited. 😮
You selected the wrong video version of Queen's performance to watch. You should have watched this version - ruclips.net/video/H3_0tcyWZQQ/видео.html. Plus there is one more song that just Freddie and Brian performed near the end of the Wembley Live Aid concert. It is a song called "Is This The World That We Created" - ruclips.net/video/riwDo7_GxjM/видео.html. It was a perfect song for this concert that sounds like it was written for this concert, though it was an existing Queen song that they performed during the most recent concert tour. Live Aid was a duel-venue concert held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (audience of 72,000) and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (audience of 100,000) which was connected and broadcast over 13 satellites worldwide to an audience of over 1.9 Billion. The purpose of the concert was to raise money to aid Ethiopia which was suffering from 2-year drought. There were 75+ acts, each allotted a 20-minute slot to perform. The UK line-up included Status Quo,, David Bowie, Elton John, Wham!, Sting, U2, The Who, Paul McCartney, and Bob Geldof with his band The Boomtown Rats. The US bill included Madonna, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, and Tom Petty. Phil Collins played in both London and then caught the Concord Supersonic Jet and flew to perform again in Philly. Paul Gambaccini, who was part of the BBC broadcasting team at Live Aid, recalled the awe among other superstar musicians watching backstage. “Everybody realized that Queen was stealing the show,” said Gambaccini. These were the very words Elton John uttered when he rushed into Mercury’s trailer after the set. “You bastards, you stole the show,” joked the charismatic star. “Queen smoked ’em. They just took everybody. They walked away being the greatest band you’d ever seen in your life, and it was unbelievable,” said Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. “And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time because they could connect with an audience.”
Each band was given 20 minutes. The artists waiting backstage (including David Bowie!) said How the HELL are we gonna follow THAT?!
Queen is queen they were on a different level. And then there's Freddie. Freddie was in a class of his own. The amount of talent that Freddie had can never be matched. He was from another planet.

Saw them in concert. Awesome. Freddie handed me a rose, still have it pressed between my Bible pages. Great one!✌️
Timeless, definitely will sing these songs at the top of my lungs even in 2089
I would do the same, but I don’t think I’ll live to be 123 years old… lol . But I’ll keep jamming to Queen for as long as I make it 😊
Go for it, I've been doing it since 1975😁💙🌈👑

Freddie ne buvait jamais d'alcool en concert. De même pour les autres membres du groupe. Freddie était très respectueux du public et de la musique... La bière, c'était pour la publicité. En concert il buvait du thé avec du miel et/ou du citron..
9:13 Harry Styles did a homage to this at one of his Wembly shows where he is dressed very similarly to Freddie here.
Great video thank you. Also Queen live at Montreal and at The Rainbow are also really good shows
The guy makes fine comments but we already know Queen blew everyone away to a worldwide audience that many didn't watch too see them, including that audience, the greatest 20 mins in live music history
See ACTUAL REPORT BELOW:
nyone who has listened to a Queen track knows that Freddie has a unique ability that still has not been truly replicated since.
It is actually all 1 Song!)
LEAD GUITARIST: Brian May’s family couldn’t afford a Guitar so he & his Dad made it from an old Cabinet. Because they were making it there are a lot of extra features that he wanted. It is truly a “one of a kind”!
iconic
This Live Aid video is all chopped up. 🥺😢
i love queen so much
You should arch the side by side movie to actual performance comparison it is unreal!!
Well it was shocking absolutely shocking
Great reaction
😢😱 Wrong video. There is a perfect video where it isn’t CUT OFF !! You MUST watch it! Life Changing 💥⚡️✨👑👑👑I probably won’t be the only one telling you this ( just looking out for you 😂✌🏼 )
reacts to forestella with bohemian rhapsody cover, it's simply incredible❤
That criminal move by RUclips/the Internet - whatever - to omit Freddie's final notes! It's insane! The saddest thing on RUclips yet!
i think we'll go with a little bohemian rhapsody gentlemen.... good call... ... waynes world 1992 anyone?
❤❤❤
i want someone to belt bohemian rhapsody with me
freddie mercury is FATHER
God, just to be there would be insanity.
More classic rock reactions would be great! Would love some led zeppelin maybe
You have a good reaction. Just don't cut out parts of the concert.🙏
“And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time because they could connect with an audience.”
my friends don't like queen, my life is sad, i just want friends with similar music taste, that's all I want, god when?????
Your friends are broken… you need to return them and demand a refund lol

There’s Absolutely Nothing Awkward about Freddie Mercury
You have not the complete video! So sad for your ‚work‘…
