With both Wille Mays, and Hank Aaron now deceased, Miggy now stands alone as the only living member of the career .300 avg. 3,000 hit, 500 hr club....such an absolutely extraordinary career.
An extraordinary legend doesn’t end his career with seven consecutive horrendous seasons! He was the greatest hitter in the game at one point, but he was a big alcoholic at one point & he battled his weight & womanizing which he finally succumbed to a lack of conditioning. At one point in his career he was on pace to accomplish so so much yet his lack of motivation was his biggest downfall. However, like most athletes the paycheck & greed was his pure motivation! Just hate how people put this guy on some majestic pedestal! I’m a big tigers fan but Al Kaline will always be the legacy of Motown. He’s a true MrTiger! He was a true role model!
Many of the all time greats, had all the liabilities you just mentioned. For example, Babe Ruth...but no one EVER speaks of him being deposed from his "pedestal." As far as Kaline he was indeed great, but certainly was not beyond reproach.
@@Jay-yf8syINJURIES. He played those 7 "horrendous" seasons because of that. He has battled injuries to his back (twice), calf, biceps (four times), knee (thrice) and hamstrings (twice) in the last five seasons.
I saw Miguel a couple of times in Venezuela when he was a rookie in mlb, then I didn’t see him again because his mlb team didn’t let him play in Venezuela anymore that was in the Venezuelan winter baseball season in 2007/2008. 14 years later i moved to the United States and in a series against the Dodgers in my first game on a mlb field I saw him give his home run 503 on May 1, 2022, one of the best days of my life.
Miggy is undeniably phenomenal, and an all tine great but that title remains with Willie Mays. I think the closest we've ever seen with such consistent"five tool" mastery in the modern era is Ken Griffey Jr..... other than that, no one equals Willie.
Or go on a multi year journey to learn the language of Spanish, the journey starting figuratively at home with study. Then when you are ready, go to countries like spain, travel through south america for years to acheive perfect fluency, going through countless locations. Dont take the easy way out go all in, if you want to watch a 10 minute video in spanish you gotta put in the hours, people are so lazy these days (btw joke)

@@Jay-yf8sy just imagine how good he was that he still put those career numbers with 7 "horrendous" seasons

Throw a triple crown season and back to back MVPs in there
