I sure hope so, all her songs are about equality between poor and rich, now she is rich, i dont know how she is acting to this change hope she stays the same. and we get more glorious songs
@@gamermoment7044 you didnt ask me lmao but i think its about popular kids being "perfect" and white teeth are seen as "perfect teeth" if that makes sense
I think Lorde's songs are timeless pieces of music concocted from unique effects, notes, and moods that cause her music to remain vibrant and classic in my soul's sixth sense. (Of course this is my opinion, but her pieces contain authentic and original essences of truly delightful music. It hits all points and senses in my soul somehow. She is the only person I play on my stereo...very unique style..so poetic and moving.) I really did not mind too much for Royals, but when I heard the rest of her songs her music's affects on me reassured me that it feels good to be alive and fighting for our goals.
Wow. I admit it does take me a while to learn what most of her songs mean but this one, glory and gore, and ribs I understood a good bit from the jump. Buzzcut season and tennis court kind of threw me for a loop so I looked them up. She really has a way of making you think and how new and different it is is so refreshing. You couldn't ask for a more genuine person. And one of the best parts is she's my age. She represents the intelligence and critical thinking of some of the people of our generation. The thinkers, the individuals, the anti-white teeth teens. Great Song. Great Album!
I have to say I wasn't a big fan when she first came out . Royals got old quick , but as soon as I listened to "Team" I found myself scrolling down her playlist I couldn't get enough ! Her music is so comforting
I were walking down the street where I live listinening to this song at 6pm, it was raining and there was only some sunlight at the horizon. I felt so strange, I didn't get it, I felt like that wasn't my city, my street, my house.
I LOVE LORDE SO MUCH!! She is so intelligent with her music! The music is awesome and addicting but you also have to look deeper into the song to figure out the meaning! Her music makes you think and it actually has a meaning that no other artists really make in there songs! She is awesome
Haven't heard this in years, only after a friend played it the other night we were out with a group and the wave of nostalgia that took over is indescribable. my god, what a night out song
i love the fading out bit at the end..."and everything works out so good, i wear the robe like no one could (we've got the glow in our mouths) everything works out so good i wear the robe like no one could (white teeth teens are out)." it's such a strong message in itself even if you completely blocked out the rest of the song. lorde writes songs were you could isolate one line and it could be a song of its own. i would LOVE a version where the bit i mentioned before was on repeat...!
I think that "white teeth teens" means "perfect teens". When you have perfectly white teeth that seem to glow you could be seen as having perfect teeth and possibly a perfect life. Sorry for the brain vomit ^_^'
Finally found out what this song means. When Lorde called and refered this song to White Teeth Teens, she is talking about those popular kids, the ones that "do nothing and love it", and she "tried to join, but never did". ...
I was one of those who judged Lorde but never really listened to her music.Have to say after listening to several songs beyond the usual(Royals and tennis court) I'm really starting to love her as a artist.
her producer works so perfect with her .. i hope they never split and if she has a writer then that an incredible trifactor they are really working in perfect harmony here
***** Pretty sure he allready knows that. But you do realise he was talking about an advertisement? Like not the google search results? It might still relate but it's still a little convenient.
***** Most people sit down when they browse the internet, so he beat you to it. You don't need to get pissed off when somebody gets something wrong, just chill.
***** explain why it matters that the "original comment was posted by a girl" seems like a pretty pointless observation unless you're trying to imply something?
she did in 2017. Its Melodrama. One of the most critically acclaimed albums in the past few years, making her the youngest person ever to get a meta critic score on her album that was that high
Listening to this song while riding in the passenger seat with the love of my life and some friends, blasting it and watching him drive down this seemingly endless fucking highway. We feel like white teeth teens.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!Surreal background music! Amazing! Now, don't worry about those who will be jealous of her,and her awesomeness!! I love the style!! She is very grounded, and gifted!! She,in my opinion, has a very old soul! GOD BLESS YOU LORDE,(Ella!),!! How I would love to hear you do a Christmas Album!!LOL!! Larry K.Parent,Naples,FL.
***** OBSESSION!! What a peasure to hear a voice like hers HUH! Amazing! Her mother ia a POET,and this also was a subject Ella took up too! In fact, she learned how to play guitar on her own! I play piano, but always wanted to play guitar,(sensitive fingers, maybe tape? Hmmm, maybe a mix of your choices! LOL!
'Royals' is only annoying because it is over played. When I first heard it on like the weird side of Pandora, I was like MAN this song is beautiful. Then ofcourse it got popular a few weeks later which was sad for me but not her obviously. But back on track I listened to the rest of her songs and my gosh are most of them top notch. :) I would be very depressed if they started playing this one on the radio only because it IS THE BEST of her and people would get annoyed of it... and it wouldn't be cool anymore ya know? anyways. I love Lorde and her style of music and the cadiance of her voice and what not. Thanks..
Yeah, when Royals first got popular on the radio I would hear it 5 times a day and I was like "I wish they'd play some of her other songs!" But, now weeks later I still hear Royals on the radio and I'm so sick of it! So I'm glad they don't ruin all her other brilliant songs by (over)playing them.
holy shit i just love lorde so much like, without being lesbian ( not that it's bad, but considering im not one.. ) can i just say that she's really pretty and just her voice really good and her songs have deeper meaning than most today??? like she delivers her voice well and just she deserves more fame than what she has now not even kidding
this song is all about early spring 2018, those months before my high school graduation. stress, stargazing, cold nights, drinking with people i barely know before graduating and leaving this town for good
It feels just like yesterday I was listening to this song before bed before high school the next morning and I'm in my late 20s now how time flies. This song is just still so classic. "I'll let you in on something big. I am not a white teeth teen.I tried to join but never could. The way they are the way they seem. Its something in else thats in the blood. Their molars blinking like the lights."
I think this song is about her in high school were the "White Teeth Teens" are the Popular and cool kinds and she tried to be a "White Teeth Teen" but she realized that she does not have to be Popular and that she is different and does not want to be a "White Teeth Teen" So i think shes trying to say that everyone should be themselves. My Opinion :3
Me and my mom used to listen to this song together and laugh be all happy and stuff and now she only talks to me to yell at me about something someone else said. Or if I go to her house she drinks, sleeps, and yells at me the whole time. I miss her so much.
lorde's stuff is just....so poetic.
because her mother is a poet =)))
yeah, her lyrics aren't just meaningless, you can actually get a real message out of it
You do realise she didn't write this song...this song's credits are Little, Joel / Yelich-o'connor, Ella.
^ Lorde's real name is Ella
primalpropaganda You do realize Lorde's real name is Ella Yelich-o'connor, right?
I get chills everytime I hear the "everything works out so good, I wear the robe like no one could"-part , it's just pure perfection

Yep, same by me. :) i wish that part to be a longer or whole song.

I'd never listened to that background chorus while she's still singing over it until I saw your comment - pretty amazing.
She is an incredible lyricist. She has a beautiful mind.
she's so mature for her age, I love it.
What age?
Marcie MacSween why does what she looks like matter? shes an amazing singer and her lyrics are amazing in my opinion
is she mature for her age? or are people just immature.
Marcie MacSween i have seen bad pics of her that make her look 100, but that does not take away her greatnesss
Marcie MacSween lol, i don't care if you degrade her greatness as long as i no that she is TOTALLY AWESOME
she made one album, won a grammy and never made music again. that's badass

It's about popular kids teeth
