    Hey everyone! Today we are in the 3rd fastest growing city in the NATION, Saint Cloud, FL. This place has been growing insane since 2017, and is much more affordable than it's neighboring city, Orlando. I wanted to talk about why people have been moving here, what I like about the area, and what I dislike. If you like this video, subscribe to our channel so we can keep you up-to-date on everything going in Central Florida🌴

    Saint Cloud is in close proximity to Disney World, Universal Studio, Sea World, NASA Kennedy Space Center, Orlando International airport, Gatorland and much more! But it is growing very fast. A lot of new developments and new neighborhoods. As a result we can see overcrowded stores and heavy traffic. We have a lot of videos on our channel showing beautiful and negative sides of Saint Cloud, Florida! Thank you for your video!

    St. Cloud native here. The town has really grown over the past 30 years but he's not kidding when he says it's a slow lifestyle. A Wal-Mart supercenter is our biggest store, finally getting a Starbucks a few years ago was a big deal, and there isn't anything really to "do". I also find myself wholly too amused that the shot he chose has the perpetually-being-renovated St. Cloud Hotel in the background. The city just wouldn't look right without scaffolding there.

    I spent probably the majority of my adolescent years in St. Cloud while my divorced parents had joint custody of me (my mom lived in Kissimmee; my dad lived in St. Cloud). I have few fond memories of life in that town and have no intention of moving back even if I were offered some millions to go back to Florida (most I can do is Orlando or Kissimmee).
    Aside from my biggest issues with Florida in general (the politics and the hellish heat), my single biggest con about St. Cloud is the near absence of public transportation. It's limited strictly to one bus route running near US 192, connecting St. Cloud to Kissimmee. It ran just once per hour (and not at all on Sundays) when I lived there, though it's apparently been increased to two buses per hour since the Kissimmee bus hub was moved from the mall to the Amtrak station at the expense of cutting the route short. That was one way in which I struggled to readjust to St. Cloud after living in New York City for a while (though at least I was in the gridded part of St. Cloud), though I still tried to make the most of the limited bus service during my five-month temporary residency between living in New York and moving to London. I even had to rule out trying to get from St. Cloud to Orlando by LYNX alone because the schedules indicated that it involved an hour-long wait for a connecting bus at Valencia College.
    Just a couple of years ago I had noticed that the once largely empty southern part of St. Cloud had been developed to hell and back, though apparently still not enough to justify having a second bus route. I don't think I would survive living in the newer subdivisions where people in most of them have to rely on cars even just to go to the convenience store. I can't drive, so I need to have stuff close by and/or be in proximity to at least a bus.

    Nice video Will. I'm from NYC now and have been in Kissimmee and Saint Cloud. I found it amusing when you said you like the hustle and bustle of the city like Orlando....to me Centeal Florida doesn't really have a "city" at best they are towns of various sizes...In NYC there is so much to do other than than clubbing or bar hopping which sadly seems to be all that us available in Orlando besides the Theme Parks. So I always tell people if you want city in Florida go to Miami, Tampa or even Jacksonville 😆 but not Orlando (too touristy), Kissimmee some what abandoned or Saint Cloud total suburb 😊

    • @willhuie4015
      @willhuie4015  3 года назад +1

      That’s a fair point, I would say st.cloud is a lot less congested than Orlando which was more of the point I was making, however Orlando definitely doesn’t have the same type of nightlife as the cities you mentioned. Thanks for checking out the video! 😁

      Jacksonville moved there from NYC lived there for 20+ years … There still wasn’t much to do besides going out to eat and going to the beach. In Jacksonville you had to make your own fun. Just relocated to harmony/St. Cloid area it’s is slow but not that bad looks it’s building up

    Am looking but the prices have skyrocketed there, even for fixer uppers, which are not of my interest. Word to the wise, if you're looking to move to St. Cloud now (2022) expect to be taken to the cleaners.

      Its messy because of a lot of uncared parts of town AND not to mention the many addicts that live here and make the town look really crappy because of how they act. I grew up here in saint cloud and it has been a constant problem the last 10 years or so. :/

    I’ve lived here since 2004 and I want to move. The traffic is getting obnoxious and the only things being built are houses. St Cloud is a greedy place all of Osceola county is. They have raised the impact fees to 30k the highest in the entire state! We have higher water and power bills here. We can’t have a Target. The only new schools here are charter schools . The county only cares about money money money.
    We pay higher gas tax and sales tax than orlando. You definitely need a car to live here as there isn’t really any bus lines past the state streets.kids can’t really get a job unless they are 18. It used to be a rural quiet town but not anymore! It’s crowded and will continue to get worse with all the building going on. You are right, there is nothing to do here. Prices have ahit up! You won’t find a house here in the 200’s anymore more like high 300’s if you’re lucky. Anything with a few acres is nearly a million now 🤦🏼‍♀️ and rent is high too. But we are only about 45 mins from the beaches that’s a plus

    Vivo aquí hace 20 años cuando llegue era hermoso podias contar los autos q te encontrabas en la carretera, era raro encontrar a alguien q hablara español, si, era el paraíso, ahora hay q pensarlo para salir, el tráfico es horrible, han construidos demasiadas vivienda para un área q no tienes opción a diferentes carreteras, en la narcoossee si hay un accidente no tienes por donde desviarte. Para mí gusto dañaron lo hermoso de Saint Cloud destruyendo sus áreas verdes con tanta construcción, Ya no ves los venados en tu patio como antes pq le han ido quitando sus territorios, si los quieres ver tienes q ir a los bosques forestales... El buscar mejor infraestructura y mejor economía para un sitio no siempre es lo mejor para su poblacion son los q sufren esos errores. Si trabaja en Orlando armese de mucha paciencia para liar con el tráfico de ida y vuelta, solo estará más despejado en los días libre de escuela.

      Lamentablemente la Florida seguirá creciendo y no importa donde decidas ubicarte habrá mucha construccion de hogares y Comercios. La Fauna y la flora por ende no será la misma. Quisiera que no ocurriera, me gusta la tranquilidad y la naturaleza pero esto no va a parar y va por desgracia a un ritmo desalerado.Te mudas de St Cloud y donde vayas llegará el "progreso".
      Todos quieren vivir en la Florida, siempre criticada pero miles se ubican mensualmente aqui. Toma pir ejemplo Lake Nona, Clermont, Sandord, Han destruido todo, otro ejemplo de lo rápido que a crecido. Hace unos 3-4 años era bien tranquilo con poca construccion.Ahora toma la Narcoosee,Lee Vista, Lake Nona St Cloud y pronto la 192 en direccion a Melburne,.Miles dd hectareas vendidas!.Uff de locos, estará super poblada tanto o mucho más que St Cloud donde resido tambien.,muchos proyectos y mucho trafico. Estoy seguro que lugares con pocos habitantes y tranquilo seran cosa del pasado. Estan destruyendo todo a su paso. La demanda, repito, esta tan alta que construyen rapido y a precios altísimos.Como estará la FL en 10-15 años?,.no será fácil!,.Pero aun asi, espero que de aqui no me mueva nadie!,.❤️ Florida 🙏🏼👍🏼

      I’ve been here since 2004 and with all the houses they have built we still don’t have any busses ! It’s weird!
      They should have a bus that goes straight to Melbourne or the beaches but it doesn’t smh 🤦🏼‍♀️
