Clans of the Alphane Moon is a hoot. Maybe my favorite PKD premise (and that’s saying something!) but executed with typical PKD awkwardness. I always forgive his blind spots as a storyteller though, since it can make up half the fun. Good god, the dialogue!
I invariably tell someone who hasn't read PKD that they should toss a coin between the two novels that won the Hugo award and the Nebula award: "Flow My Tears The Policeman Said" and "The Man In The High Castle". PKD is similar to Miles, Coltrane, Sinatra, Elvis, Zappa, and the Grateful Dead in that there's SO MUCH to chose from... a beginner needs a little guidance so they get the best representation of their genius.
with out a doubt it has to be 'THE UNRECONSTRUCTED M' also 'MINORITY REPORT' and 'DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP' and 'THE GAME PLAYERS OF TITAN' , 'WAR VETERAN' 'COUNTER CLOCK WORLD'
That’s an awesome book, but I think this video is meant to inform people about his lesser-known stories (although, I thought Ubik was well-known, so maybe I’m wrong).
'Flow my tears the Policeman cried' is my favourite it starts off in 5th gear and halfway thru kicks into hyperdrive.
Incredible..
"Said", the policeman said
@@alecdavidoff8602 that's all u have? How he world loves a nit picker! :-)

'Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said' could be destroyed by Hollywood as a sequel to 'Blade Runner' quite easily.
probably not the best idea to cover up the titles on the cover with your added text...

My favourite too, read in in 1976 and it blew my 13 yr old mind. Glad to see someone else agrees!
Penultimate truth is very underrated

Not his best in a literary sense , but my fave book is Clans of the Alphane Moon. Short story, the chilling Electric Ant.
Three Stigmata or High Castle
If Jules Verne is the father of sci-fi, Philip K. D. is the father of Cyberpunk.
Technically speaking, that is William Gibson.
Novel: Ubik
Short story: Faith of Our Fathers
Brilliant choices! Faith of my fathers is fantastic!!!
My favourite is his life story
The hanging stranger

Second Variety was made into a film called Screamers.
I AM UBIK.
Great
Wtf!!! And doAndroids dream ecc. where is it ?

The Simulacra is the worst PKD I've read. A Maze of Death would have been a much better inclusion.
Man make Ubik into movie damm it
Valis is a very poignant look at religious uncertainty and exploitation in the post-war environment. It and Dr Bloodemoney are my two pics.
The name thoXD
so was Bioshock the unofficial adaptation of Ubik?
You mean Bioshock Infinite?
nothing like Ubik xD
👽 time slip
Great
