  • The TENSOR gyroplane opens up an entirely new market segment between helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The TENSOR gyroplane will win customers where extremely short take-off and landing characteristics (XSTOL) at lowest operating costs are required. The take-off distance is only 86 meters (ISO conditions, sea level, no wind and MTOW = Maximum Takeoff Weight). The landing distance under the same conditions is only about 15 meters, which is about the diameter of a helipad. Due to its wide speed range from 30 kts (VSO = Maximum Normal Operation Speed) to a maximum of 130 kts (VNE = Never Exceed Speed) and the principle of permanent autorotation, TENSOR gyroplanes are also among the safest and most flexible aircraft available. The Tensor Gyroplanes are designed for three possible applications: professional use, personal mobility and cargo transport.

What a beautiful gyroplane. I learned to fly on the Bensen B8 and Migni two seat open cockpit gyros.

How about rough field takeoff ? Most gyroplanes don't have enough rotorhead stability due to the suspension. .So a rotor flap can easily happen off a rough field during or shortly after flight transition. Also we've seen wings carrying part of the rotors load before. But hasn't there been problems not foreseen in the calculations?

I used to hand wind rotors and take off from farmers paddocks, no problem if you are prepared to take your time and have good rotor management. I had quite big low pressure tyres. You will never get rotor flap after flight transition. You may over rotate because you take off too nose high but a hint looking at the videos if both blades are conned up they aren't in blade flap. Blade flap has retreating blade stalled. You aren't getting anywhere near off the ground with one rotor stalled. This type of thing happens because no one knows how to wind up blades progressively anymore they bunt them up to 220 then push in full throttle and rush the take off which takes much more distance and results in a final merry jig of cyclic and rudder at they struggle when they suddenly have airspeed plus rotor speed all at once.

Good looking machine. I don’t see a rotor shaft going up to rotor, how does the pre rotation work?

many will have an electric pre-rotator some even use hydraulic which could fit in the masts. Don't know what they do here but either would work.

It's a flexible drive shaft going up from the engine cowl to the mast head pre rotator unit. You can see it if you look closely.

How is this safer tnan a moto glider....? If it was able to use the auto rotation and short wings to glide, then.

Also no stall, guess they base it off that.
