I have the same pack. I use it for 3-day trips. I’m able to pack more since I don’t bring a laptop. It has been holding up very well. No problems with the pack. ❤
You're my fav bag reviewer but if you would choose non-black bags it would help. I can't really see the features on the black even on my super sized phone. I always study the light colors of the model even when I'm going to buy a dark one. Thanks so much and walk on!
I agree, I don't like black bags either for reviews, the lighting doesn't come out well and my camera has a hard time focusing on them, contrast is bad. I try and get any color but black when possible but sometimes they don't have other options or it's not in stock 🤷♀️
love that you mentioned ryan airs restriction. Perhaps a video with bags that DO fit Ryan Airs restriction. There are many of us looking for that bag that will fit withoug discussion. I have one from amazon / cabin-zero, and another incoming from lundhags. My guess your collection is a lot bigger then mine, so perhaps you could inspire the rest of us mere mortals with a selection of "small" bags :)
I use three or 4 bag to travel with them. Gr1 21l little but longer but no problem with them Gg bullet 15 l Recycledfirefire 12plus backpack And the last the cheaper its the vashaka 3in1 and its the perfect size for the personal item for ryanair
My AGVA [RoadTripper] crampshell edc backpack feels solid but weighs only 720g (1.59 lbs). It has a laptop/file section with acceptable amount of protection and it has a crampshell open-book-style section for me to pack clothes. And i can pack in as much as (woman clothes) 3 long pants, 4 longskeeves Tees/Blouses, and 2 s/sleeves tees and 2 pairs of shorts as pyjamas/sleeping clothes, 2-large full-size bras and 2 shirts in the file compartment. i can hav some waterproofed thin material carriers, an 1-foot length but extendable selfie-stick, and loosely stuffed all my tech-items and make-ups into the odd corners. When i get to my hotel, i will take out my compressed pencil-bags/soft-cases to contain these stuff separately and put them into the small waterproof-carriers. iTs cheap (Singapore dollars 9O only) and it lasted till now sinz i bought it in August 2019. i may have to do laundry and put more layers of tees/jackets on my body if i need more sets of clothes to go on a 18 days to Taiwan, 3O days to Malaysia etc.
Yes, 3-way to carry it, lightweight, looks compact too, and “expandable” using basketball nettings for added space to stuff in the jacket/scarf you took off and wanna stuff domewhere. iTs only 47cm L x 33cm W x 15cm D x 720g Weight
I am absolutely intrigued. It appears to be very close to a poor man’s version of the Dragonfly. When you say you used the bag “in the field” do you mean off trail? I’d be really interested in how it performs for mountain day hiking. How does it work for rock hopping? Also, the water bottle pockets look on the shallow side. Any problems with something like a larger water bottle worming it’s way out?
Poor man's Dragonfly 🤣 I'm a wildlife biologist in my day job, so I used it to carry field gear for a few weeks. For this bag it was mostly off-trail hiking on flat ground, I haven't done anything intense like climbing with it. I'd say the biggest issue is the lack of frame or structure. If you pack the bag weird, or have large bulky hard-sided gear inside, it could poke into your back. The water bottle pockets are shallowish, but larger than many other bags I try. A thin bottle may fall out if you have the bag lying at an incline, but for normal use I didn't have an issue.
Thanks for this review, I was pondering getting a lightweight rolltop as a personal item that can expand to accommodate souvenirs on the trip home. I have an Aer Go now, but it can't really flex higher and hold more when you might need it. One note: I think you meant to say that the weight is .66kg or 1.3 pounds.
Really enjoying your videos recently! I would love to see your review of the updated Kathmandu Litehaul 38L - I've been using it for the last 3 months on a remote working trip and honestly think it's unmatched for that purpose (I had the peak design 45L travel backpack before but much prefer this).
@@OneBagTravels that was the question I was going to ask, I’ll be traveling in March and need two backpacks that fits the personal item of Ryanair. I’ve seen the decathlon nh 500 (doesn’t fit but maybe if we don’t overpack it), the cabin max Metz, and the cabin zero classic and military (seem more comfort but more expensive and not sure of the looks) Which one do you recommend or is there another one outside my radar?
@@skaya6838 The ones you mentioned are good, I think Cabin Zero is better quality than Cabin Max, and they have a number of bags that work as a personal item for Ryan Air

Thanks for this review! Quick correction: 0.66 lb is 0.3 kg, not 1.3 kg.
Not really. The side access opens into the back of the laptop sleeve area. So you could reach over and touch the top of the tablet, but with the lid closed you wouldn't be able to get it out without opening the top.
Yeah sadly this is the case. it’s £110 on site which is around $135 and the cheapest I’ve found it from another seller worked out £99 with shipping. Guess I’ll give have to work my way through your videos till I find the right fit haha. Keep up the great work 👍
I liked the volume capacity test :)
Thanks, I like it too
Thank you for the review. It's good you considered the security issue with the side pocket.
Thanks, glad you like it 👍

Nice, thanks for sharing =)
Thank you for reviewing that.
I do like the extra deep mesh water bottle pocket.
I agree that for the price it should have better back ventilation.
Back ventilation is important
I'm glad you consider the International traveler... I don't mind having options but not everybody is a bag hag with a pack for each situation 🤪
Local is great, but carry-on international is what I'm shooting for

Nice review. I’d love to see a review of the Roark Accomplice Mule 25 as well!
I'll be doing a review of the Accomplice Mule 25 sometime in the next couple of months

I actually don't have that many Ryan Air approved bags, but I'd love to do that video!

Maybe it's just me, but it really reminds me of the ULA Dragonfly but with a roll top! 😆
I concur, it does have a Dragonfly vibe

Good recommendation, looks like a great little bag. Simple clamshell pack, good organization but also super light weight.

Great video as ever! Really interested to see the larger Roark bag - the Mule 55L. Looks good but a bit long (over 60cm) for carryon?
Yeah that one is probably a checked bag

You're right, I had them backwards 😣

I like Kathmandu so I would like to try out the newer version. It says they don't have the 38L on the website, but maybe it's just out of stock.
@@OneBagTravels ah I'm based in the UK so maybe just a regional stock issue
Have you done a video on the best person bags for Ryanair? If not, I’d love to see that!
I haven't but I agree that would be awesome

Good catch, thanks!
That’s a sharp looking bag
Indeed!
Is that black and green or is it more of a tan?
It's more of an army green
Is the other sleeve accessible from the side entry as well? I’d be using it to store a iPad Pro 11”
Not really. The side access opens into the back of the laptop sleeve area. So you could reach over and touch the top of the tablet, but with the lid closed you wouldn't be able to get it out without opening the top.
How is the water resistance/proofing?
It's ok, not great, it has some waterproof fabric but not the entire thing, and not the zippers.
@@OneBagTravels understood.. better question is: would it do ok in mild to moderate rain?
@@christwohill4569 I think it would be fine with light rain, but anything heavy or consistent would start to leak into the pack.
I wish the laptop compartment was seperated from the main bag, it would be perfect otherwise.
That would be nice, but a separate compartment also adds weight and space
Do you think it is possible to roll the bag down to 17" in height?
Yes, if you don't pack much in it. ~16-17" is about the lowest you can roll the top before going below the backpack straps.
Feel like this would be great for around £70 but looking at Roark overall it seems everything is overpriced.
I think it's a good bag for the price, $99 right now in the US (~£78). Maybe the UK site is showing higher prices due to VAT, shipping? Not sure.
