What I love the most about this channel is I not only get to see one of the most talented and versatile guitar players ever, I get to laugh my ass off as well. Thanks!
I like this guitar player Greg. Period. He plugs in a Gibson 335 or SG and he's got my attention. He can even do it on a Les Paul. There is some magic happenin'' when it's a 60's or 70's Gibson. Some kind of mojo takes over. The front pickup...c'mon man. No volume, Fender amp on 3. It's all in the fingers. This guitar is special. I watch one of Greg's videos every morning. Or two...
I was trying to figure out why the historic les Pauls sound so different than the 1959 Custom that was on here a few days ago. Listening to this, that 335 sound identical to that 1959 custom. Realized it’s the amp. He’s using that BF vibrolux again. Great video!
Awesome!! Now that you covered your western shirts video( which I kinda miss) looks like beanies are next? Lol! I remember hearing a vintage Es through cranked Fender amp and it was pure sonic bliss!! Incredible!!
Hearing this reminds me of just how much more bright and bitting modern Gibson pickups are I like modern gibsons but they are quite different form vintage Gibson pickups.
I have a 1963 335 TDC which I bought in 1967 for $450 from a music shop in Auckland along with a Watkins Tape echo. I've had it refretted twice in its life. Original case etc. Pass it on to the Grand Kids.
Man those Gibson early patent sticker pickups sound amazing. They are identical to late era PAFS from 1961 and 62 . The only difference between a late Paf and an early patent number pickup is the sticker on the bottom. 1963 patent number pickups are as good as any late 50s paf and cab be had for much less money.
These vids are so hip! Wilwood and or Greg, are the guitar controls always turned all the way up (Vol/Tone) in these Vibrolux/BB vids? Or does it vary a lot? It’s never indicated with the other info and I’m curious. Thanks!
I had this exact same guitar... sold it 5 years ago and I have been regretting it for the past 4 and a half years. What a silly silly mistake that was...
I wish I could afford. Car or the guitar. Love this guitar. I tried the Alvarez Jazz series 335 copy the other day and almost fainted how good it was. It reminded of the old days ;)
Gorgeous. Wonderful playing, as usual. You sure know how to emulate the style of music the guitar breathes. Anyone know how much this guitar was selling for?
ladies and gentlemen let me say without any embroidery or embellishment that is a fine sounding gitfiddle. lo, let it be shouted from the mountain tops, that indeed this is quite a specimen of resonant splenditry.
As amazing as this demo sounds- and it sounds amazing- I would kill to hear that guitar with the Vibrolux turned up more. Not dimed or anything, but turned up past 2.9 on the volume. Dirt pedals into a barely turned up amp is cool and all, but imo it’s nothing like a Fender amp turned up to 5 or so. Just to where if Greg digs in it breaks up a bit, but if he plays softly it’s pretty clean. But beggars can’t be choosey. 🤷♂️
The only thing Im going to complain about, is... Why the heck Greg never uses the amp natural breakup od. It would help out many of us. I mean...who cares bout the BB preamp pedal.
True! The closest would have been the Epiphone Casino we saw him using starting in '66. Lennon had one, too (later sanded down to natural), as did McCartney, who still uses his. But then you likely already know this stuff. It was interesting that all three the same model. And that John and George got blue Strats.... Must have been contagious.

Only the most splendid tonal savagery from this man. Such killer chops.
JESUS that's the neck pickup. That's it right there. That's the one.

That Allman Bros intro into Cream and no Fartbox 50. Winning!
Phenomenal tones and chops.
OMG! greatest 335 video I've ever heard. Awesomeness!
You guys need to start a series of Greg teaching these licks and songs or just lessons in general
Watching him and listening is lesson enough 🤓

What a sublime tone - at first I didn't think it necessary to use any drive but when Greg kicks in the BB pre, magic happened..!
love his BB pre-amp tone more than the +2k amps.
Whoa....that's a great guitar.
Hearing this reminds me of just how much more bright and bitting modern Gibson pickups are I like modern gibsons but they are quite different form vintage Gibson pickups.
Everything he plays is magic....! Razor blades and hand grenades...priceless!
Perfect guitar for you dear Master Greg,
when you play, you seem to have fallen in love with the sound of this guitar :) A serious affair !
Greg teaches us that it doesn't matter what guitar you play!
Just damn. Beautiful instrument!
These wildwood guitar videos are awesome and so is Greg!

that neck pickup sounds perfect! If only I could play like greg! haha
That's lush sounding indeed
I really like that BB preamp I'm going to have to check on one of those. Seems like it just puts a touch of that you know what.!
Xotic pedals are great
With the Vibrolux and BB Preamp for dirty tones, this 335 sounds delicious ! Great playing Greg :)
What I wouldn't give to have that talent
Yep, freakin' awesome!
"I could play it all day......, maybe I will, .......maybe I have been!" It's just fun watching Greg do his thing.
I can dig it!!!!!

Very nice..
Greg can stand with best of em. No doubt about it
I love vintage es's
I felt every note
Do you ever think of going back to valley fair greg? They miss you bud.
i actually live very close to the mocky mountains here in alberta.
It might be, just be something to do with the player, but that guitar sounds savage!
Damn...I dig it.

this guy knows how to sell guitars....make sure they pay you what you're worth Greg!!!
I had this exact same guitar... sold it 5 years ago and I have been regretting it for the past 4 and a half years. What a silly silly mistake that was...
Gristlesque I dare say...... Caffeine is a hell of a drug! Love ya playing!!!
Ah gods, the tone. The TONE! Stupendous played clean and oh, so dirty. 22K and worth every centavo.
I wish I could afford. Car or the guitar. Love this guitar. I tried the Alvarez Jazz series 335 copy the other day and almost fainted how good it was. It reminded of the old days ;)

$22K asking
Greg, you're best guitar player on RUclips. Only Danish Pete can come second to you.
That Albert King link...gorgeous...
Lick sorry...
We knew what you meant, and we are right there with ya. No worries.
the ES-335 is the best guitar that Gibson ever build.
I can dig the neck pickupks
Scrumptious.........
I'm mainly a fender player but nothing sounds as good as a vintage 335
At almost 8 lbs, how much is this Gibby per pound?
Gotta be a lot.
GK sounds great.
Your coolness is exceeded only by your playing
❤️
Greg’s vibrato is more recognizable than every player ever, including B.B. King. Of course this is just my opinion. (But you all know it’s true.)
woah slow down...
the most recognizable vibrato was from e.f. cumbersome of eliahu, ohio, in 1948
Yeah okay
Like johnny winter,s bendy vibrato on johnny winter and
ladies and gentlemen let me say without any embroidery or embellishment that is a fine sounding gitfiddle. lo, let it be shouted from the mountain tops, that indeed this is quite a specimen of resonant splenditry.
honestly, that thing puts so many guitars to shame. holy f.
Sing the song of your people, brother. I have so shouted, and it was good.
Fine examples of Kocherese in your comment.
He has a new book out! Look into it dude!
With an instructional DVD!
WHAT A TOP AND SOUND...YA KNOW THAT ONE GETS THE PREMIUM PICE FOR BEING THE CLAPTON YEAR AND THE TOP....OR WAS CLAPTONS 64?
This guy has done a lot of guitar playing in his life.
What chord is being played at 0:55
just sounds like an octave
Bridge heat was smoking
How much would this sell for
It *will* be mine... oh yes, it *will be mine!*
Greg makes the 335 look like a 336!
Something tell me he wants this one 😏
Wow sounds like my 67 335 Bernie Kessel nice instrument let me dig in my pocket before it's gone.
That's a nice 339.

Because that amp would have to be cranked REALLY loud
Wow, Burstbuckers and 57's don't sound like that at all.
she's ready for anything...
"ROCKY MOUNTAINS EEHHHH!" Fk, Greg is as funny as he is good at guitar.
minchia, che bella!
2:03 lol
I want to be Greg Koch's Cabin Boy.
I ummm. ummm
Mail it to me ... please.
Have u ever wanted to buy a stranger a guitar. I have
There is no evidence that george harrison ever played an es-335
True! The closest would have been the Epiphone Casino we saw him using starting in '66. Lennon had one, too (later sanded down to natural), as did McCartney, who still uses his. GEORGE USED A SB ES 345, NO BIGSBY ON FINAL UK TOUR + IN ' NOWHERE MAN' PHOTO SHOOT. @@MrCherryJuice
Doesn't sound any different than the reissue.
