Any other old souls in here? I’m 26 and I absolutely love this man’s music. Along with Erroll Garner, Piero Piccioni, Cal Tjader, Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, to name a few.

I am 63 and started listening to Mancini in 1964 with “The Best Of Mancini” (released in 1964). Listen to as many of his albums as you can! Another 2 favorite albums of mine, “The Best Henry Mancini Vol. 3” (1979) & “This Is Henry Mancini” (2-record set-1970).

@@RLN268 those are some good ones! My favorite of his would have to be Mr. Lucky goes Latin because of Lujon which is my ultimate favorite. I have about 4 or 5 of his vinyl records and I plan on getting more!

A true charming fellow, who does not take himself
seriously. Those are the kind of people, who we all admire.

I met Mr. Mancini backstage in OKC, Feb. 1992. He happily signed my program, but I didn't have a camera! Oh well. A happy memory.

Ask 'any' serious/professional musician who they thought was the greatest/most influential composer post WW11? and they all mention the same person
    Henry Mancini
