    🚄 INFORMATION KEY
    Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.o...
    Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.o...
    Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

    My two-year-old son took a train from Luton to Market Harborough this summer and has been banging on about the "purple train" ever since. He watches this video about once a day and absolutely loves it. Maybe not the target audience, but a dedicated fan nonetheless. Saying a big thank you on his behalf!

    What a lovely variety of DMUs there! I suggest coming to Basingstoke station soon. A mix of 66s, 70s, 450s, 165s, and 159s. A nice mix. Splendid video though. Keep it up! 👍

    I think that East Midlands Railway don’t need anymore Class 170 Turbostars and are to replace the Class 222 with the Class 810 Aurora Bi-mode trains that are coming into service from next year.

    East Midlands Parkway railway station is located north of Ratcliffe-on-Soar on the Midland Main Line in the East Midlands of England. It provides park and ride facilities for rail passengers on the routes from Leicester to Derby and Nottingham. It is also the closest station to East Midlands Airport, some 4 miles away, but without public transport link.
    The station lies in south-west Nottinghamshire, close to the boundaries with Leicestershire and Derbyshire, between the stations at Loughborough, Long Eaton and Attenborough. When it opened, there was a little-used shuttle bus from the station to the airport, but this ceased not long afterwards. An hourly minibus service was re-introduced in 2015 but later withdrawn. The main station building and the 850-vehicle car park are to the west of the line, opposite Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. Road access is via the A453, which provides a link to the nearby M1 motorway.

    I have to say quite a few trains have some problems with wipers - erratic movement, wrong alignment, Meridians especially ;)

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  Год назад +2

      As much as the Meridians are regarded as the best of the worst compared to the Voyagers, it’s a bit of scabby fleet. None of the coach numbers match and the interiors are all dirty with thread-bare seats. I imagine the drivers feel the same way about the driving experience! The Turbostars EMR have aren’t much better, there is a LOT of variety.. such as southern.

    Is this station and the trains that serve it always that dead?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  6 месяцев назад

      The trains that serve this station come from Nottingham, Derby and Leicester so they are usually pretty busy. The station itself has always been a bit of a white elephant - it isnt located anywhere near residential properties so its only here to serve the airport.. but there isnt even a bus link to the airport. Hope this helps Jacob!

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  Год назад +1

      Completely agree, this station has lacked a good bus connection since it was made. If there was a free metro or air link which linked the two, I think this station would get used much more.
