Welcome to our Carnival Pride 2022 series!!
This sailing we sail from Tampa, Fl to Limon Costa Rica, then a partial Panama Canal transit (so cool!) and then Grand Cayman.
Today is the highlight of the cruise.. the Panama Canal! This was such an interesting and very cool process getting the Carnival Pride through the locks to get to Gatun Lake then head on back to the Atlantic Ocean. This was a partial transit and we got to have a guide on board explaining the history of the canal.

What decks did you go on for viewing...
One of the best views is on Deck 9 right above the bridge. I would say to get there early since that's the prime area to watch right in front of the ship. Another cool area is in Serenity in the aft as well. Hope you have a great cruise! 🛳

Did this cruise offer excursions from the lake as some other cruise lines do, e.g. a ferry through the remaining three locks to Panama City, the train trip to Panama City, the visitors center, the rain forest, etc?
Unfortunately not, since we just did the partial transit back all that same day, there were no options for this. But I believe the cruises that just say Panama..and not Panama Partial Transit do offer excursions since these cruises are docked and don't go through the Canal. But we did the rainforest when we docked in Limon Costa Rica. Thanks for watching!

What excursion did you do while in the ports?
In Limon we did the Veragua Rainforest Tram & Trails (highly recommend!), Panama Canal day was basically a sea day but you get to see the ingenuity on how they get into the canal. And in Grand Cayman we did a third party excursion through Captain Marvin's and we did the Stingrays, Starfish & Snorkeling tour (again, highly recommend!)
On my list is the #1 Modern Wonder of the World, so ahead of its time and so difficult to build that 25,000 workers lost their lives during construction. France went bankrupt and Panama became an independent country. So much history and engineering. It is the only Wonder of the World that is not static.
It was a cool experience, just unfortunate on the lives lost in the making of it. Thank you so much!
