      I think what the OP meant was that the jerk knew the system well enough to avoid getting caught by the cops/CPS. For example, a bruise on a kid's face might be enough to get him in trouble, but a bruise on the knee or leg could be a normal, childhood injury (I once tripped and somersaulted down our basement stairs once- kids do get bruised up from time to time) and thus easily explained away by the jerk. :(

      I really hate parents who are so selfish and wrapped up in their egos, that they refuse to face reality and deal with the reality because it's inconvenient for them. BOTH their children are suffering because they refuse to face a reality that no amount of school can or will change. Saying they shouldn't have had her it's like telling them to predict the future as to how much money they're going to need to care for their child.
      Also if we went by this metric, we would be having a population crisis right now since most of the world is too poor to afford children, even in the first world. Maybe instead of blaming people for something beyond their control like a cork of genetics, we blame the systems in place that make it difficult for them to find Alternative Care?

My oldest daughter is albino and has sight problems so I actually got her into school when she was 2 years old and she went to summer school 3 years in a row so by the time she was in regular elementary school she would be at pace with or ahead of her class even with being legally blind. I think what bothered me the most is they set up that soundboard so she could say "what she wants". But it's not about what she wants. It's about what she needs. Which is to pay attention and listen, which she was either incapable of or uninterested in. But then babies or people with the mindset of babies generally are. Which is why they need one on one attention. Which they can't get when everyone is miles ahead of them, and they themselves are demanding food or attention instead of trying to learn. Bad situation all around. Seems like if the parents had enough money to sue every month, they could afford the specialized care she needed. If only they'd admit she needed it.

In the end, I had to drop them, she was spending more time nagging the boy than I was teaching. She was doing the same to my math colleague. This was a 15 year old boy who was so shy he could barely utter a word, but no worries, she would answer for him! Or do his homework. Or ask question on what she thought was important. When I very politely told them I couldn't see them anymore, she went to my boss and accused me of all sort of things. Luckily, she also know how crazy this lady was...

    A little bit of vice versa, but I had a covid test provided by my school, which came back positive a day later. I had no symptoms so my mom took me to get a pcr test to make sure. A day later my tests came back negative, which means the test provided by the school was a false positive. With this, my mom called the school in hopes that I could return, and presented the covid test documents, which stated that my test was a negative. My school rejected this, and said that I still had to stay home. With this, my mom approached me (6 feet apart), and said “you better believe I’m going to give your high school serious shit.” And she just went completely off the hook. All day she was so heated, yelling at multiple school personnel. Hell, I thought she was going to start dropping f bombs. I couldn’t here what she was saying because I was quarantined, but I could tell she was 200% infuriated. Just so you know, my school’s protocol says that I can return to school if I present a negative covid test, but they decided to say “fuck the protocol, stay home bitch.” And being honest, that pissed me off too, because I missed picture day with my football team, and my first football game.

      I doubt it is a *whole* ham. It's probably one of those smaller, processed ham portions that are provided by some meat packer somewhere (such as Hormel makes, and are the types bought by some restaurants, and then sliced for various menu items, or maybe only a half or quarter hams, as stores tend to separate whole hams into halves or quarters, so they can make more money than they would probably make by keeping the hams whole. 0:38 do NOT refer to children as having "low intelligence." The factors that lead to intelligence are learned, meaning these children did not have the proper education prior in order to intellectually develop as they should by their age. It is perfectly acceptable to say that children are behind in their critical thinking/reasoning skills, etc. But "low intelligence" to the average person sounds like these children are inferior, which is a terrible thing to say.

    • @Kayenne54
      @Kayenne54 4 года назад +10

      If children are tested, according to local school/govt norms, and come out as "low intelligence" then..that's what they are. If an experienced teacher assesses them, their behaviour, their reading comprehension, language skills etc. and says "low intelligence" how is that saying they are inferior? It's a form of measurement. "he is short" doesn't mean "I'm accusing him of something he has no control over". "She is tall" isn't an insult. "Mary's dress is blue" isn't a political statement, or racist. These are observations. If a teacher or OP said, "these kids were dumber than paint" then yes. That's insulting, implying they are inferior because of tone or wording. There's a world of difference between an assessing observation, and an intended put down. Also being described as having "low intelligence" didn't stop Einstein from becoming famous. Even experienced teachers and wise mentors can make a superficial assessment and get it wrong. But it is still an assessment of current conditions being exhibited by the child. Not their potential.

Let just say in was a hopeless. My wife work in a rural setting. It wasn't any different, but they had more money. It seemed better, but that was just a mask. It was horrible, and hopless. Before my was a teacher, she worked at a daycare in a university. It was the same. Once she had these nice children, but they were just dumb. She told the parents, "You should find a means of taking care of your children, other then daycare, because your chilldren will turn out bad. They had no where to go. The nice little children became swearing rude little monsters. She had these other little children come in, and they were nice, but very smart. Both parents had Phds. The children were very smart. They were years from kindergarden, but they two children taught them selves to read. The parents were upset, because they want to wait, because they worried the children learn to read early might be haarmful to them. Their two children taught other children to read, and they all took turns reading books. These two children help calm things down, and pick things up. They reduce the stress in the whole classroom. My wife had a meeting with the parents of these wonderful children, and she kind of hinted that because the parent were obviously smart, they passed it on to their children. The parents said, "No. We just made time for our children. We talked to the all day long. We kept the with us, and just interacted with. We are not special, and our children were not born special.
