- Today we’re opening up the brand new Home Depot Holiday 2023 Star Wars 7’ Darth Vader animatronic Prop! This is easily one of our favorite decorations this year, he looks amazing in person and is perfect for both our home haunt and Christmas celebration! We’re going to take him out of the box, do a quick time-lapse build, and then give you a full demo. This prop looks amazing! Fully agree that it should have had a separate setting for non holiday related audio. Besides that it’s incredible. Great review!
I thought so too, they really did a great job on him! I’m wondering if it’s some sort of licensing issue, it just seems too weird that neither him or Yoda would have that option. If not licensing maybe it’s a challenge to make a switch change the audio options. Don’t know but I’m thrilled they made him either way. Thank you!!

Thanks! We converted our garage into a room to help hold all the crazy things me and Jackson seem to keep acquiring! Han Solo would be great! Jackson doesn’t know it but a Stormtrooper is coming out later this year. I can’t wait to see what they do after him! Me too, I hope he looks as good as Darth.You too!

Thanks! Yeah I was a little worried after seeing a couple of the shorts floating around but he looks amazing in person. I can’t wait to get hold of the Stormtrooper now. Hopefully you won’t have any trouble grabbing one in July
Do I just aim the hairdryer and it automatically goes back to where it’s supposed to be. Does he not have lights only?
I just aimed it at the area and held it in place while I did it. It just took a few seconds.He does have lights only and a step pad setting

This thing is so awesome probably my prop of the year and also there actually is a stormtrooper prop coming out later this year to go with him!! You’ll have to get them and see how they look together
Mine too so far, it’s going to be really hard to beat! He’s really impressive in person. Yeah I'm definitely going to pick him up. My son collects stormtroopers so I figured it was better left as a surprise in the video. He’s going to love it!

Despite living in Europe, we decided to get one from ebay. We have to pay double the price, but he moving is worth it IMO. However, as we are not interested in the Holiday/Halloween aspect, we may mod him a little here and there. Maybe we can do something about his phrases...
That’s awesome, I’m glad you were able to get one even if it did cost more! I think you’re going to love him when you see him in person! If you figure out a solution for the phrases I’d love to hear about it
@@JackulasCastle Well, you could always just switch off the figure's sound and place a bluetooth speaker next to him. If we cannot figure out how to manipulate the soundchip, we might do that. Particularly as IMO, he needs his characteristic breathing sound as well.
@@SandraOrtmann1976 It really kind of surprises me that no one seems to have figured out a way to mod home depot animatronic sound chips. It would be amazing if it could be done
You know when your cat falls asleep on its side and wakes up and its fur is crushed on the side of its head, that’s what his helmet reminds me of. Pretty cool though.
Hahaha exactly!! Fortunately Vader tolerated the hair dryer more than a cat would and it straightened right out!
The bug eyed helmet is the only thing I would ding this Vader statue on. I'm sure replacing it with a more screen accurate helmet would be doable if somebody had DIY skills, though it would probably make it too heavy for the light weight servos on the neck. If it was kept stationary, however...
Yeah I’m sure some mods could be done to make it more accurate. I’m looking forward to seeing what people do with it!

Not right now, it sold out on May 4th. They will be getting more though, probably in July when the other Halloween animatronics drop.
What is his height from base to tip of lightsaber?

if it was that easy to fix the helmet, you should remold the brow of the helmet to sit flush with the mask so there's no gap. it would look way better and more accurate.
Unfortunately I don’t think the hairdryer would allow me to remold anything. I think the heat just made it pop back to its original form

Do you mean for a helmet of your own? If so you could probably do it but it would most likely require some major surgery on the included helmet. I don’t think it would be that easy but I wasn’t really looking at it that way when we were setting him up

Its a prop from House of 1000 Corpses. You can see it during the Murder Ride scene. Someone complained because shes toppless so I blurred it. Facinating that they didnt care about the fact that she was cut in half and bloody but found the human body the area of concern. Thanks for watching!
So Kool. They should make Boba Get & Hammerhead. Even Jabba the Hut. We grabbed Yoda last year so I guess we grab Darth this year. We see. 🤙💀🦾
I bet Boba won’t be that far behind, he seems like one they’d make. I would guess him and maybe C-3PO and R2. Hammerhead and Jabba would be dreams for me!!! If you liked Yoda I think you’ll love Darth, they really stepped up their game with this one

Thanks! Hahaha she wasn’t supposed to make an appearance, she’s a movie prop that was used in the filming of House of 1000 Corpses. You can see her in the murder ride scene. Just a little bit of movie art! It’s not worth dealing with any RUclips issues though so I’ve added a blur, just takes a while to process. 🎃🦇🎃🦇🎃
