I don’t think my answers prayers are above God praises. Their is nothing more important that HALLELUJAH PRAISES . Gods praises are above anything I may desire or want. God worship goes above everything who am I to take His praises and worship. “HALLELUJAH”is one of the highest praise it belongs to God alone.
It means that God loves when we turn to Him when we are most desperate. When we run to The Father's arms and we know He will be there and will catch us, is a form of worship that touches Him deeply, it's not saying not to Praise or Worship.
Simon, from American Idol, well news flash. His daughter sings for Amy Grant's. She is part of my rock band TaMWOT. She is the final piece...long on TaMWOT, we are going to the New York Stock Exchange!
I agree that we are to praise the Lord in all things. To me, though, the songwriter is simply trying to remind us that when we really ARE in some kind of personal trouble, it is "music" to His ears for us to call upon Him to help us. That's a VERY personal connection. By comparison, not everyone is always being 100% sincere in their "praise" - example, singing a hymn at church in a halfway fashion (not fully putting our heart & mind into it) like is so easy to do when we aren't giving our all. He understands - we ARE human, after all.
While first listening I thought what is this? But I realized and according to my understanding people just says Hallelujah,Praise the Lord (lip service) without meaning anything. But God wants our whole heart, our whole being crying out to Him,seeking and totally depending on Him. So this song......
Your comment nailed it on the head. There was a time when I thought this song was false teaching. But now I totally understand where the writer was coming from. We would only call on someone if we trusted that they could help us. Crying out to God is an act of faith that is better than a reflex Halleluyah.
I don't understand this song. "No thing" nothing can be better than a Hallelujah: Praise the Lord, Thank you Jesus, Thank God, Thank you Lord from the fruit of our lips. "Are better sometimes" Amy saids but, I know when I was in hurt, crying, despair, depression, heart troubled or stressed. I called "prayed" unto God and gave thanks and praises. I couldn't stay there(depression etc.) As it is the will of the Father the Holy Spirit will quicken, speak and encourage you that he hears our cry. Let not your heart be troubled. Fear not... and so on. Someone enlighten me about this song.
I don't really know how to answer your question. All I can say is that artists/bands are the only ones who know the true meaning behind their songs (unless they talk about it to their fans). I guess it's that she's trying to say God hearing us out is better than a hallelujah. A hallelujah is praising God, and God loves it when His children praise Him, but I think He loves it even more when He helps out His children (if that makes any sense). I don't really know if I'm fully correct, but this is what I think (I am not a song interpreter).
Jesus Christ is the fullness of the love of God incarnate yet Christ did not run around constantly shouting with a fleshy happy clappy "Hallelujah!" he was a Man of Sorrows acquainted with grief... Yet Christ had more joy overflowing inwardly and spiritually than any other as he is the deity Supreme! It is better to have a heart without words than words without heart! Paul the Apostle spoke of groanings in the spirit which cannot be uttered with human words... In essence there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who think they need no repentance! most false converts and Pretenders and hypocrites and fakes and frauds walk in the flesh and a Happy clappy Spirit constantly shouting Hallelujah...But a truly broken man under the power of the Holy Spirit of the Living God cannot utter such words but merely bows his head in Repentance in Brokenness an absolute silence!
I believe that it's about a woman dying and she is hang on with God's love and his healing power ❤️ I understand this song. 🎵 ♥️ praying for all people's
My husband was a Messianic rabbi. This is the kind of song that bridges the gap between Christians & Jews. I wish he'd lived to hear this. He told me he met Amy once. He loved El Shaddai.
People in serious pains real .. Realer than real. Cry better than an hallelujah.. Dont. Dont mock . im too hateful. Dont choose my life you cant fix your own diseases. Thats a really REAL
I really don't get this song. Why would someone why would our misery be heard as a melody? Why the cry of a broken person be better than a hallelujah? I love the song tho.
Being with an open mind with a trusting heart toward God with no doubts/second thought is better than someone who sings like an angel, speaking in tongue yet doubtful about God's plans. Is something making sense

I feel it's about what really points us to get the most of God's attention, what really matters to God and not just us. GLORIOUS SONG.

Jesusongslyrics, I think you are right
it means god likes it when u help people in need instead of just yelling hallelujah hallelujah

Because in our broken times and misery is when we are completely honest with God & ourselves and entirely reliant on God.
I’m pragmatic bitches finish up these stitches magically delicious
The midnight worries are gone to the first peddler with the star of Bethlehem overhead. Jesus was a King!
Jesus is the king of kings and Lord of lords!
Love this song
❤
