Your bricks have a cooldown of 5 seconds, so if you're in a position where the only useful gem you can draft is a Garnet, you can throw it next to the bricks to make them be able to spawn more coin balls. It doesn't make a huge difference in the long run but at least you don't have to skip a gem draft.
