I like it, I don't get why so many people dislike it. It could be a little more energetic, though, but her voice and those breaks gave me chills. (Oh, and Björk seems to like it too)
The only way to enjoy this song is understanding that this version is interpreted by a complete different band. See Bjork's face in the end. It was a masterpiece. If you don't like drums, then forget it.
Covering a Björk song is about to make your own version out of it. I love this one. It's different but still brilliant and very enjoyable in its style. Even being a big Ane Brun fan I need to say that from the three Björk cover performances on this evening, the Wildbirds & Peace Drums version is the one that I like the most. I love the rhytmic drumming and I love how different but catchy her singing goes with the orchestration. Great job! Love it.
It's a good! Great song from a great album. Is this an Icelandic award? Wouldn't every year be like: "and the winner for best album is...Bjork. And the winner for best....Oh it's just Bjork all the way down guys! And the winner for best new artist is...Bjor....oh, I mean is Of Monsters and Men! We have a new winner!
Geoffrey Zoref Hi, this is not an Icelandic Prize. It is the Polar Music Prize: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_Music_Prize. It is known as the Nobel Prize of music
Oh, I love Björk and her voice as well, but give W&P a listen elsewhere - Maryam is really something extra, especially when it comes to live voice performance. I think this was great but agreed that it is nowhere near her max capacity
I really try not to comment negatively on people's performances but this has trashed all the elements that made the original so good. This is flat and sparse and irritating.
omg...i would NOT perform this rendition in front of Bjork. It's nice that they tried to change it up a bit and make it their own, but the execution was lackluster. It did not feel like it had the soul and energy as it should when being performing such an epic song in front of bjork herself.
I like the original and like this version... I mean covers don't always follow original sounds.. so I felt the other singers just made a copy of the original version of the songs without adding anything special .. but oh well it's all about taste? xD
@@joethelion6016 Why don't people understand what ? I don't care if it's a tribute or whatever, it's not very good... And my point still stands. Her vocals are very hard to cover.
@@biscuitsandgravy7360 Saying Bjork's vocals are difficult to cover is banal, of course they are, so obvious. It's a tribute to her music, doesn't need comparison. I thought she did a good job.
The singer from Wildbirds has an evocative solo voice that doesn't work with an orchestra behind it, and Bjork's music is a far cry from Wildbirds style (way too pop). Check out the Take Away Sessions videos of Wildbirds to see them in their element. They tried, but this was a bad combination... For those that think Wildbirds couldn't do justice to Bjork, I would like to see Bjork attempt a Wildbirds performance - wouldn't come close is my guess, just too different.
I just read this five minutes ago and had to stop and track this down. Willow Smith did an amazing job singing this song. She should have been singing this tribute. Shockingly amazing.
@Sunfucker It's always like this in many musician videos. There will be people who don't like a certain cover because the voice doesn't 'fit' or sounds different than the original singer. They don't understand that every voice is unique. Ironically, this song is about human behaviour.
The first few lines sounds like when a deaf person speaks, almost like talking through your nose. That isn't to say they're not talented, it's just an opinion.
dude.. mariam Williams is a few leagues above björk in every sense. internationally hired voice actor and singer.. regarded as one of the most unique and talented voices on this planet..
@@nug4table Is it Mariam Wallentin? I watched a few of her performances based on your comment. I really like some of them, but for now I'm pretty sure she's not a few leagues above Björk.
@@rtncg sry yeah, a bit exagerating on my part. They are totally different and björk is a genius in her way and also how she utilized her voice... you should watch the intro of "raised by wolves" , just breathtaking literally
@@carladean6117 You are right. My knowledge is enough to enjoy the orchestra but I need to go to a music school to distinguish her vocal prowess. You clearly know zero about ear and logic.
@@carladean6117 Ok, I get it. You know the singer personally and you want to defend her but you can't win arguments showing your CV lol. You really disappoint with your immaturity. Sure there are people who are making music for decades and still have no taste and vision. You should have a clever way to tell what is so special about the singer who sounds so bad. Don’t tell in public “this is definitely good because I’m speaking as a 35 year of something” people laugh at you lol.
Bravo! To sing a Björk's song in front of her you need courage!!!💪
It's a Bjork award ceremony. They have to sing one of her songs. That's the point
They GOT courage ! 🤠🖖

Her vocals were the problem. She sounds so lifeless.

The only good thing were the drums actually
can someone listen to bjork without liking drums?
There are as many ways of singing this as there are humans.

Seemed to be the only song Björk really liked as well. She looked pretty bored during the other performances
The guy in the orchestra on the base or kettle drum made this, other than the vocals of course
I love this honor for Bjork. Amazing interpretation!
This is crazy cool. This sounds so gothic and dark. Her voice is so great. I really liked it. Good job
That was outstanding!! OMG Such a difficult song to cover
I think this emphasises what a brilliantly written song this is. I love the original and I love this
This cover is a classic!

Excellent cover

Intresting A different interpretation of the song. May have to listen several times to really get a feel for it.

It lacked bjorks original hyper intensity but as an interpretation by another amazing artist it was pretty good. I prefer her own work though.
Wow! Cuando el cover es tan bueno como la original y ambos son obras de arte! Está de poca madre la versión! La amo!
OMGG!! ♡♡♡
I kind of like this. This is brilliant!
I adore the original obviously but her voice at 03:02 actually gave me chills 👍
Me too. The build and release of that section is fantastic
@@mifi4216 thanks for reminding me to watch this again 😁
I liked it, but Bjork's voice is a unique instrument. It's hard not to feel the lacking.
It's not karaoke, she's not supposed to sound like Bjork. It's an award ceremony celebrating Bjork's music
Oh, I love Björk and her voice as well, but give W&P a listen elsewhere - Maryam is really something extra, especially when it comes to live voice performance. I think this was great but agreed that it is nowhere near her max capacity
It’s dope bro
Takes guts to cover Bjork.
Em . . it's an award ceremony honouring Bjork, who else's music are they going to perform? 😆
I have done that girl in norway, 3 years ago. In my tent. Was amazing. Girl was hot, temperature outside of tent, was not, -28C. Love you still....

Passaros e paz, tambores e selva.
Awesome and then some
I have the same face reaction as Bjork. She probably like...the fuck is this bitch doing?!
Mariam Wallentin ?
Nobody can sing a Bjork's song. Nobody can paint a Caravaggio.
She just did and it was great
Got here because of the Raised by wolves intro music. Love her voice on that song. Hated it on this. This was made only for Bjork
Super version bjork said to me

Today I learned that Björk fans hate fuller voices
