Yes it is, The DC-6 is a very reliable machine, but having to shut down an engine is not that uncommon. The 6 also flies quite well on three engines, you can even do a three engine ferry with them.
i wonder why these old airplane could stil fly today.... these (DC-6 , curtis c-46, dc 7 and etc) are old airplane maybe manufactured at least45 years ago aren't these ? are there some manufacturer that still produce sparepart for these airplane?
I flew on a military flying boxcar once. Never again. Engine failure on take-off at Hamilton Field in northern California in the summer of 1966. Crash-landed back on the runway safely. Memorable experience. Only then did I learn its nickname was flying coffin.
Very cool video. I'd love to get up there to see all those great aircraft. At the end of the video it looked like the way Miami did some years back. Cockroach corner. Not any more , so sad.
Was waiting to hear the C-46 depart...
What Airfield
Isn't that a feathered motor @ 2:00,right side?

Thanks for uploading. But Its a pity you didn't set your shutter speed to show the props spinning properly instead of the slow motion effect.
