    I now use 10 sensitivity and 5 torque in game and 65 FFB strength on a DD1 podium with torque key plugged in for all tyers upto racing, and 55 FFB strength for racing slicks.
    Also I found that turning the centre spring off will give slightly more nuance FFB with zero effect to the feeling of the castor of the front wheels or loss of FFB for feeling the rear tyers.

      Thanks a lot for your comments man. I have zero experience with fanatec's internal settings, so this should really help fanatec users better adjust their wheels in combination with my settings, especially that you have the same approach as I do.
      I also noticed in other sims like Assetto Corsa that turning the in game centering spring effect off, does a better job in delivering better and more detailed ffb, and that makes total sense.

Would really appreciate this info, it should help me a lot also with drifting I suppose.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад +1

      You're welcome and I really hope this helps. I'm currently using the stiffest springs, the red ones, without any washers. I think this best simulates the real feel of a brake pedal and I like to have that little soft travel when I first press it. I removed all dead zones, except for the clutch I kept it at default. And I currently have the brake force at 89. But that was some quick initial setup when I first got the pedals, not a long time ago. I'm still planning to do some testing, in search for the optimal brake force value, but it feels good for now and I didn't have enough time for that yet.

    from what I understand, the ideal "controller sensitivity" for drifting on a wheel would be -2, as it gives you a smaller steering ratio around center so easier to initiate, and a higher ratio at high angle, so easier to make smooth corrections. Linear is cool but not necessarily optimal.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад +1

      It's not about the sensitivity being linear nor about it being easier. It's about the physics being realistic. The visual virtual wheel in cockpit view as well as the visual front wheels in the graphics part of the game always follow your physical steering wheel no matter what CSS value you use. What gets ruined is their effect in the physics. Anything below 5 for CSS and the front end of the car will react less than what the rotation of the visual wheels should make it turn. Any thing more than 5 and the front end will turn much more than the wheels are turning, and looks like something invisible is holding that front end and turning it independently of what the front wheels are doing. It looks awful and highly unrealistic and ruins the replays. And for best realistic feel compared to the real thing to actually drive and not just play a driving game, it's much superior and intuitive at 5. Do you get what I mean bro?
      If you're used to it at -2, I highly suggest you give it a go at 5 for some while. Trust me once you get used it you'll never wanna change it ESPECIALLY for drifting.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад

      Also by Linear I mean 1:1 with how it should be in real life given the geometry of the suspension and everything which is not exactly linear from steering wheel to the front wheels, but in exact coherence with how it should be.

    • @dmtc6913
      @dmtc6913 Год назад

      @@SimActionClips so far the guys who have tried going to -2 are instantly loving it and telling me it's way better.. btw it's also how I used to use GT for years with a wheel (even though I thought it did nothing I just had it at -2 for the rare occasions I'd use a controller)
      Dont they have steering mods that do that irl? And it's alright if it's not 100% accurately depicted, GTS used to do much worse visually when using drift settings.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад

      I hated it so much in GT Sport and always trie to fix it, finally knew what was wrong but in GT7. They might have things to adjust it in real life the way you're describing it, but it's a totally different thing in the game. It's not that at all. It really affects the physics making it feel weird and not as predictable as it is at 5. It doesn't feel natural and you feel it a bit disconnected and delayed. The visuals are very important to me but that's not the point either.
      You see it's actually something unintended from the developers. They actually state that it does nothing lol. I think they made it for controller players to feel easier, and didn't really unlink it for wheel users. It affects the physics and not the actual transmission of your inputs. It's not accurate to say it's the linearity setting for your inputs.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад +1

      Thanks a lot man! Yeah you can start practicing drifting real turns on proper tracks, Tsukuba is a nice track for that, you can use the same car first since you got used to it. The next part though won't be about that yet. I need to finish covering all the basics first. There are so many details still: all different ways of initiating a drift, brake pedal control in all kinds of scenarios, transitions... It's still a good idea to do your own practice though and figure out what you're doing wrong and what is right when the future videos are out. Another great idea also is to practice the same exercise of part1 but with more powerful and more edgy cars. The C63 AMG is a great example and it's very fun when you get used to it.

If your budget is not an issue I would highly recommend the Fanatec DD Pro which was developed specifically for GT7 . If you find it too expensive you can go for a Thrustmaster TGT2 which was also developed for GT7, if that's cheaper in your region, but I would highly recommend you get the T-LCM pedals with it since the standard ones are rubbish. You can also get something in between the G923 and the TGT2 which is the Thrustmaster T300, also great value for money. Not a fan of the FFB on my T150 wheel after the 1.31 update. Too much road surface feedback now. My wheel vibrates and clips all the time. Even turning FFB torque and sensitivity down to 1 doesn't stop the clipping. It needs a road surface vibration option to turn it down.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад +2

      You got a wrong understanding of the term clipping means man. You mean by it the vibrations right? When they tell you to lower these values down to avoid clipping they mean a totally different thing. They're talking about the higher forces being clipped = downsized by the capabilities of your wheel. You can better understand what that means from this short clip: ruclips.net/user/shorts-mi2V__LLfM?feature=share
      Anyway that's a very bad advice even for what it is actually meant for and for many reasons.
      When you set the ffb sensitivity down to 1 you're actually increasing these vibrations and ruining the important forces at the same time. Forget everything you've been told and use these exact settings:
      - Controller steering sensitivity: 5
      - Max torque: 10
      - Force feedback sensitivity: 10
      If you still find the vibrations too annoying with these settings, just lower the max torque without ever changing the other settings.

    Why is the game continue want to center the wheel on the game its try to adjust for the controller, why can't you remove dead zone from the wheel and setup your own deg of rotation for gt7 if it suppose to be a real sim racing game, the game is set on 1080deg only 🤔??

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад

      Which wheel are you using and what are your force feedback settings?
      Watch this video to know how i set up mine: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
      Using these settings the game actually behaves very close to real life.
      And it's normal for the wheel to want to return to the center most of the times, unless there is something particularly unusual that you're talking about. The game automatically changes the degrees of rotation dependin on the car you're driving (and it's limited by the physical capabilities of your steering wheel of course). I think that's much more realistic than giving you the freedom to set it manually and randomly. Nevertheless, you can still change that from the internal settings of some wheels like my Thrustmaster TGT2.

    What is the best handlebar angle for drifting?

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips Год назад

      Do you mean the steering wheel angle? You cannot change that from the game. You only can from the internal settings of some wheels like my Thrustmaster TGT2. There is no such thing as best angle tough. I always recommend what is most realistic, to best develop your skills. I would have gone for 1080 degrees on my TGT2 but it is not physically capable of being fast enough with that angle, so I stick with the default 900 degrees. In some DD wheels it could be possible to use more angle. I would never recommend less angle, one can simply use a controller then and just "play".

      - Max torque: 10

      IMO I always aim for thr most natural and realistic singlr setting for all kinds of driving. In other words It is not a matter of preferences, IRL you dont change anything for drifting and car provides with the feel it can provide. There is no FFB setting for drifting and another for time if you are aiming for Realism.

      Oh I always had the same issue with my G29. I reduced the severity of it by opening up a window in the case and installing a 12x12 cooling fan. The problem with these wheels is that the motors heat up and they lose power because of it. Your T300 already has a cooling fan, but I think I saw some better cooling modes where you can buy and installe more powerful fans for better cooling. You can also enable the forced cooling mode in it by pressing mode button + option st button together, the LED will blink twice and the fan will be always on. To go back to automatic cooling you press these once again together.
