In the books, this is told thru Caetlyn's POV & the cut off her hair before they kill her. She's rendered mute by Robb's death and her last thought before she dies is how much Ned loved her hair. It was brutal. I threw the book across the room and didnt touch it for almost a year. The show managed to make it more visceral than the book ever did.

I sobbed the first time watching this even though I had read the book. I have re-watched the show so many times and watched soooo many reactions but I haven't really cried too much since the first time. I actually started crying so hard seeing how heartbroken Angel was. 😢

On a positive note, Gilly telling Sam he's "like a wizard" because of his bookish knowledge is such a wholesome moment cuz Sam tells Jon previously that he always wanted to be one ❤ she probably didn't even realize quite what it meant to Sam 😭 so pure

The actor who played Robb had to catch a plane that night and still had “blood” on his face and was crying. He wondered what the other passengers thought was wrong with him.
This is the episode that had the world talking and got me into this addiction. Michelle’s wail always gives me goosebumps
For me the crazy part was that the way they killed her gave her time to register where they'd hit her. They specifically aimed where the baby was and let her panic. I watched this around the time I had started considering if I'd have another kid and nearly threw up seeing them come at her like that.
And Arya didn't see her dad die either... Yet again she was close enough to understand what was happening but someone stopped her from seeing (and getting caught up in it) and carried her off

Robb's "Mother..." gets me every time, followed by Catelyn's reaction after. As sad as this episode is, this was a really good reaction (the hug and "not Robb with two Bs"), and I know Angel is going to enjoy the coming episodes. Also, you guys might enjoy the Coldplay GOT musical, I've watched it multiple times, and I don't think there would be anything else that could be spoiled after the Red Wedding, but I think it was released around season 5, so it might be a fun watch around then.
The Coldplay video and Game of Thrones: A beginner's guide, narrated by Samuel Jackson is a must see.

I felt so bad for Angel! He was so happy and excited at the start. I will admit I had a bit of twisted glee inside, knowing what was coming. As things got into that scene, I kept watching Angel and I thought he was going to work it out ahead of time. But, obviously it was a major shock and tearjerker. I’m glad Sean gave him a hug at the end, I would’ve done so too. I had tears myself, watching the reaction, and I’ve seen this countless times now. When the episode originally came out, it was on the front page of at least one newspaper. Sadly, I wasn’t able to watch the episode myself until months later, so I’d had it spoiled.😭💔

In the books her name is Jeyne Westerling from the Westerlands and the Lannisters set it all up. Jeyne seemed to have genuine feelings about Robb though. Shes going to be the POV in the prologue for Winds if we ever get it.

Yeah, Rob's wife in the book is just this character that shows up and disappears and then shows up later without much impact. The showrunners really just milked it with an entire season long love story and "LITTLE NED" stuff.
