30 dollars is a good price. Can't do much wrong with an Iwatsu of that period, they made pretty good quality (Made in Japan) back then. I had to choose between an Iwatsu SS-6122 and a Tektronix from the same period and I picked the Iwatsu without regretting it till this day.
TV-V was mostly used for triggering from television vertical sync pulses. Some scopes also have TV-H for horizontal sync.
Did you make the video that you mentioned at the beginning?
Its a great scope, I have cleaned all the controls as they were a tiny bit scratchy, still waiting for my probes to be delivered from China.
I have mine here with obviously no use for it, so sometime I could bring it over for you to use until yours arrive.

Is there any particular reason you're keeping the GoldStar Oscilloscope as opposed to this one? That scope does look particularly compact.
I just like the Goldstar better. Plus it's 10 years newer, so hopefully less chance of it breaking in the future.
I have this scope and channel 2 simply does not work at all. I'm trying to fix it but I really don't know what I'm doing beyond the very basics

The Goldstar is a lower quality unit compared to this one. You should keep this one around.
