The kids really do love performing. Good music is good music, whether it's performed by children or adults. This is not a children's music competition - it's about children performing music. Similarly like there are for example violin competitions for children. Some of the songs are more childish, like Spain's song this year or Ukraine last year. I like variety. Georgia has sent similar kinds of songs in recent years, except in 2022, which was a different and absolutely amazing song.
When we saw Andrea on stage you would say a boy who just came out of his diaper with 20 years of singing experience. We always watch JESC, SanRemo and ESC with our entire family as my little cousins of 5 and 8y sing too. My grandfather is a professional musician. We are all very musical in our family. I am a teenager and I am getting too old to watch JESC. I just watch it for my younger cousins. We weren’t expecting something like Georgia, it was mind blowing. It was insane how steady and flawless his vocals were for such a young kid. The confidence, the emotions everything was perfection. One thing we all found a shame is that Portugal won televoting and it showed what a joke televoting really is. She wasn’t winning or top 3 material, we didn’t believe what she was singing, it looked like a school performance, even my cousins perform much better. No doubt that she has talent, but she doesn’t have what it needs to be at the level of Georgia and Ukraine. They both sold their songs like professional artists do.
