But I mean if you’re gonna use Brady playing more games is the reason he has more yards and tds than Brees you have to do the same thing with Brees and Peyton. But even despite Brees have more accumulated stats Manning has 1 more ring and 5 more MVPs.
Brees played in a Dome Dome at Atlanta, Tampa and Carolina All relativly QB friendly environments Brady played in Rain, Snow, Cold and still put up numbers Also there were games the Pats would barely pass and mostly run to win games
Tom brady played a extra 2 years just to surpass brees records btw! Brees has the most 5,000 passing yards seasons too.. only reason he only has 1 sb is because of historically bad defenses letting historical plays happen on them
I think we’re also starting to see Sean Payton wasn’t anything that special. Brees carried him. I’m starting to see a lot of similares with Burrow and this iteration of the Bengals.
@UnexpectedWonder the saints has had a solid Defense for Drew's last 5yrs atleast this argument is straight BS alot of people gotta understand what division he's in and he was in a trash ass division for almost his whole Career and when he gets in the playoff it shows he can't produce lol
Brees get more yards because he threw more time than Brady so if he didn’t had more then why throwing more…..just how we keep saying brees has bad defenses Brady didn’t had good offensive weapons and offense wasn’t high flying like brees, look what he did when he get Moss
I'm one of those crazy people that would take Drew Brees over Tom Brady any day. People forget that Tom Brady for most of his career had an elite defense and Drew Brees only had a good defense once and he won a Super Bowl when he did have it. If Drew Brees had Tom Brady defenses he would have the same amount of Super Bowls if not more and I will die on that hill.
You can also argue brees had a better offensive coach in Payton. So a lot of those yards are from a coach doing a very good offensive scheme. It was Tom Brady and a coordinator working in NE.
It’s funny seeing people saying team accomplishments as if literally every stat isn’t a team accomplishment. Name one stat that doesn’t involve people?
Everyone forgets how horrendous the saints defense was the years brees and the offense was at its best. Also brady has never had unfortunate events that he has no control over happen that resulted in losses multiple times.
I think people are taking the acronym GOAT and turning it into what they want it to mean. GOAT means greatest of all time. Vick cant be your GOAT, hes not even his own GOAT. He can be your FAVORITE PLAYER, but thats different than being the GOAT.
Here’s the thing as a Saints fan. For everything someone meant to a city and team. Drew Brees is the GOAT. He quite literally resurrected an entire city and state after hurricane harvey and years of being ass. That being said, strictly based on football pedigree. It’s Brady obviously. But I’ll always personally take Drew over anyone because of what I previously stated. He’ll always mean more to Saints fans than any amount of wins.
@TheAutumnWind_RN4L Damn I love the 1978 pass inference rule, how come Marino and Elway outlasted him? Also, by your logic Terry Bradshaw is superior to Joe Montana cause “tougher era”
@345optimusprime I wouldn't say a thing against anyone who considers him their GOAT. That's their favorite QB, and people are allowed to have their favorites for whatever reason, right? Terry played up against roided up players, and he was one of the toughest sons of guns I've ever watched play the game of football. Threw the ball away a little too much, but I remember his perfect strike to Lynn Swann in SB X, 60 yards in the air, as he was about to be annihilated by Dallas defenders all around him. And he called his own plays. There's something to say for that.
The only QBs that can reasonably be in the goat conversation I think are Brady, Montana, Mahomes and maybe Peyton. And realistically it’s Brady, with Mahomes having a great chance of catching him or at least it being subjective depending on how you value team success vs eye test.
It's such a team dependent sport. I look at things like draft pick, coach, and weapons when they started as well. Mahomes went 1st round. He had expectations. Brady went last. He was just supposed to be a fill in for worst case scenario. Mahomes started with Andy, quite possibly the best offensive minded HC of all the time who has no problem letting mahomes control the reigns. Brady started with Bill, the best defensive minded coach of all time who was the final say until later in Brady's career. Mahomes started with the #2 tight end at the time and still has him now at the #1 spot, and hill who if nothing is if stupid quick. Brady started with good players but not the top in the league. He didn't have that until 07 when he got moss. Not to mention era, Brady started in an era where they were just starting to limit hits on the QB but barely and the game was more defense based. Mahomes started in an era where you can barely touch the QB and the game is built for them to throw the ball around 70 times for 700 yds. It's almost impossible to compare the 2.
@@larracisyou forgot to add that Bill wasn’t this great coach when Brady got there tho, he had 5 losing seasons to one winning season prior to Brady showing up and had even more when Brady left

@@relljavI mean these guys have won multiple MVPs and multiple rings outside of Rodgers. I don’t think you can just exclude Montana because he played in a different era, the point of GOAT conversations is to include different generations, not just the last 20 years. Rodgers is arguable, but again this is just the consensus top five of all time. And yes, Mahomes is already there. Winning 3 chips in four years, the two MVPs, the All Pro teams, the yardage, etc.
This argument also happens when they argue is Tom the greatest football player or the best quarterback? GOAT means GOAT by whatever standards you choose. But a lot of times, people just try to diminish an elite player because they dont like him. When those people truly prefer another player that is not considered a GOAT by many, you can tell that they are being honest and not just being hater.
Drew was robbed of a SB appearance by non PI call against Rams. They went on to score 3 in SB vs. Patriots. If Brees had an opportunity to go agaisnt Brady, head to head....maybe we're having a diff convo. He had already beat Manning head to head. That was a legacy changing call. ijs
I’d be curious how well Brees SB appearance compares to any of Brady’s. I don’t like looking at how many times you get there and win. It’s a team game not all 7 chips were because of Brady only.
This is why that no call still pisses off saints fans. If the no call doesn’t happen then Brees would have went to 2 Super Bowls and probably would have won. If he beats both Brady and Manning then, Drew would get a lot more respect.
Yards are a stupid variable because if u got a great run game u will use that to close out games! If you offense is a passing offense your going to rack up those yards! GOAT for nfl is not up for debate when 1 singular human being has more super bowls than any franchise has as in the 104 years the nfl has existed. It’s not subjective for this sport. And this is coming from a bills fan tortured by this human being for 20 years
@@matthewmorse3307 True, but does the fact that the kicker won like 3 of them count for anything? I'm not trying to discredit Brady, but you got to take everything into account. Even with more Super Bowls than everyone else, its still subjective.

Brees is most def in the conversation and I personally think it's a bad look for this show to act like thats such a hot take. If Randall Cunningham had Brees exact carreer and stats I doubt Ocho and unc would be saying this.
No he’s not in the conversation. We can play all these hypotheticals this that and the third. Look at their resumes all time and you truly think Bree’s should be in the conversation? I would understand that if this was Peyton manning they was talking about but Brees? As much as I’m a fan of his, sadly he doesn’t have the postseason success/rings and MVP’s close to Brady. Brady the goat by 7 miles, but Lamar also have a unanimous in 2019

Drew Brees has more yards more touchdowns higher QBR higher completion percentage less picks and BEAT and OUTPLAYED Peyton in a Super Bowl so we ain’t gonna talk like it’s not close lmaooo oh and Brees never had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne 💀💀💀
But I mean if you’re gonna use Brady playing more games is the reason he has more yards and tds than Brees you have to do the same thing with Brees and Peyton. But even despite Brees have more accumulated stats Manning has 1 more ring and 5 more MVPs.
Brees played in a Dome
Dome at Atlanta, Tampa and Carolina
All relativly QB friendly environments
Brady played in Rain, Snow, Cold and still put up numbers
Also there were games the Pats would barely pass and mostly run to win games
He played for the chargers first and he only plays half a season in a dome the sun or wind won’t change his stats

Why y'all think Tom Brady came to Tampa bay because he wanted to beat drew
Tom brady played a extra 2 years just to surpass brees records btw! Brees has the most 5,000 passing yards seasons too.. only reason he only has 1 sb is because of historically bad defenses letting historical plays happen on them
I think we’re also starting to see Sean Payton wasn’t anything that special. Brees carried him.
I’m starting to see a lot of similares with Burrow and this iteration of the Bengals.
Brady missed 2 full seasons if I’m not mistaken. So it evens out. Brady came to Brees’ division and won the SB and the Bucs sucked previously
@@Oldemail337 The Bucs revamped their team though...
It was such bull Unc couldn’t believe what he was reading 🤣

Cam Jordan trippin 😂😂😂
Drew Brees can't top Montana. Joe will always be my GOAT. There weren't many rule changes challenging physicality when he played.
Ever heard of a guy named Joe Montana or John Elway?
You definitely a casual.
Too early to crown mahomes. But potentially he can be up there soon
@@The_ch0sen0ne5 you know how people are. They were crowning him 5 minute after he won his first SB.

Ngl Tom Brady is closer to Tim Duncan than Micheal Jordan but that’s okay. His wining standard makes him the goat but Tim Duncan is the player with more wins and finals appearances than Michael Jordan along with more longevity
