WOW. I remember when this first aired ob Bobby Jones. I was blown away by this choir because their look, sound and energy was so vastly DIFFERENT from everybody else at the time. They're now my FAVORITE choir. Gotta love James Hall & WAP!!
This has to be the first song I heard by James Hall when he first started or when I discovered him. I had forgotten about this. Was looking for another version. Still a win.
@loopyman 76, yeah I remember when this first aired too, I could not stop thinking about the song in church that day!! it was nothing like I've heard before, and I was heavy in choir music when I was a kid
@gschro1 Same here!! I was stunned. Thought about them all that day in church, too! Then I called a pal of mine who sang with Hez at that time and asked if she'd heard about them - I immediately wanted the cd. They'd truly taken over the gospel scene in Brooklyn at that time.
This looks like it was recorded at the number one spot in Detroit where all the smoking 90's gospel events were held.. At no one else but Bishop Andrew Merrit's church Straight Gate Church.. This choir tho... ON POINT!!!
She stayed apart of the choir until there 2005 project, “Live at Foxwoods.” She’s one of the retired WAP Generation one members. Every now and then she will sing with the choir, and usually is at every reunion/anniversary. She holds the title “1st lady of JHWAP” since she’s been apart of the choir the longest

@Heart2HeartSinger Yeah, she's much more 'jazzy' than anything else. Too bad she didn't take and keep it all in gospel.
