I very sure the dancer and the drummers do Not rehearse these performances. It’s is all anticipation to the point of being psychic. I know it seems impossible given the near perfection of coordination between them, but I would bet on it. Having watched so many of theses videos, the percussions are similar but very improv. The quick stop and starts are randomly placed. Loved seeing the kids have a go! This fellow with the twin head serpent and yellow face is my favourite. The mask expression is priceless. Calm, humble, joyful.

Mz Tiyahs Gaming & Vlog Your comment shows how illiterate you are to the various African cultures. Voodoo is a religion from Benin. How do you know this religion is wicked? Because your brainwashing from American whites about African cultures you repeat just what white peoples says. I have one ancestor who was from Benin and was from the Weda region of the country and she was from the Ewedan people.

Miss Tiyas it is not nice to say things about other cultures that you don’t understand we are African we love our culture this dance is for joy you cannot undsertand because black peoples were taken into slavery in the americas so they lost the culture living or being born in America does not make you better than African we don’t copy your dances !!! Because we have the original one !!! And nobody is asking you to like it why do you bother to watch it since it is a demon dance you don’t even know what is voodoo you get every thing confused please leave Africans alone worry about your own culture !!!

The dance steps, mask and style is very much similar to a dance form 'Chhau' in India. But here the dance steps are very fast and energetic. Really admirable and appreciable .

to give you an idea of how skilled both parties are, the drummers are drumming to the beat of the dancer, not the other way around. it’s astounding.

I don't understand why African Americans don't want to return back to this wonderful culture. They are free to return. They always embrace their heritage but choose to be oppressed.... Here they can be truly free.

@@hispanoafricana6984 If one lives if the past, then they deny themselves a future. I would hate to live like that. The African people have beautiful cultures and traditions. But I think that lifestyle just may be to hard for them now. They are too westernized. Especially the ones from the big cities. These Zahouli dancers should tour America. You don't have to be African or even have African heritage to want to see them preform. Absolutely amazing! And the costumes are gorgeous.
