    Good evening Donnie, I love this fishing video ❤It gives me fond memories of fishing with my Dad. I helped fill the freezer with trout, LM Bass, bluegills, crappie and Lake Michigan perch. Also caught blue fish in Maine and Atlantic Bonita (Tuna) in Florida. Praying for you to feel better every day. God bless you with a full recovery soon 🙏🙏🙏

    Try some size 10 circle hooks. They can swallow the hook and still get hooked in the corner of the mouth! Caught a couple of bass on Watauga from 3.5 to 7lbs on the size 10 circle hooks using large shiners while fishing for walleye and catfish. The way the circle hooks are designed it greatly reduces the number of gut hooks. But you don’t set the hook like you do with a regular J hook. You either start reeling or use a sweeping motion. Sometimes you can actually feel the hook come out of their stomach and nail them in the side of the mouth! Nice catches!

    I had never been night fishing - didn't know at all what it was about until now! Seems like a more enjoyable way to fish in the heat of the summer. Not hot, not soaked in sunscreen, not swarmed by mosquitos (I'd hope!)
    Funny thing about fishing. I remember fishing with my Dad when I was young; I always felt like things didn't happen fast enough. Once I got older, I found it was one of the few things that happen slow enough.

    I live up the river (Clinch) from you , just the other side of the Virginia line . We don't get many Crappie up here , but we do have some pretty good Walleye fishing . Lots of nice Smallmouth .
    Always wanted to fish on Norris , but never knew anyone familiar with it .
    I have fished Douglas a few times .
    Enjoyed your video .

      Thank you friend. Norris is a big lake, but it can be very good fishing at times. I haven't got to do as much as I would like fishing this year. Spring is the best for crappie. Summer night fishing is really great in the right spots. Thanks for sharing.

    Home sweet home. We dock our boat at straight creek BD . We love Norris lake. My husband loves fishing for crappy and walleye. He has caught a lot of fish. He caught a huge walleye near straight creek biggest one I ever saw and also a huge catfish that dragged him in our 20 ft pontoon but he got it.

    What area of the lake do you recommend fishing the first week of June? I am coming down that week and want to take my nephews out to catch some fish. Doesn't matter what type of fish they just want to go out and I want them to catch!

    • @donnielaws7020
      @donnielaws7020  3 года назад +3

      Does not really matter my friend. If you are from the banks fish the coves and channels with worms and minnows. If from a boat fish submersed trees for crappie. As for bass they are nesting now, but will be off the nest by June. Nighttime fishing will be heating up at that time too. Just have fun my friend. Stay safe.

    Donnie, are toy fishing over cover? Or just anywhere in the channel?

    • @donnielaws7020
      @donnielaws7020  2 года назад +1

      Right now due to the 85+ water surface temps thy are most suspended in the deep creek channels, but you can find them deep sunken trees on the main channel at day break till the sun gets up. Now night fishing with lights in channel is best. They will be 20-30 feet deep around the schools of shad they follow. Hope that helps my friend.
