If you're getting a "The specified module could not be found" error when compiling, it's because game_exe isn't directed to Garry's Mod Replacing the parameters with: "-game "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod" +map $file" (without quotes and your garrysmod folder path) will resolve that issue and launch Garry's Mod correctly!

Yes, I have used hammer and hammer++ to make tf2 maps and hammer++ is literally the same as hammer but with quality of life improvements that make mapping a bit easier. it's just hammer plus new features.

Did you make sure that you set up vvis, vrad, and vbsp correctly in Hammer ++? It seems the underlying issue is that Hammer ++ doesn't know where those executables are located according to people having similar issues

Step 1:Downloading Source SDK Base Multiplayer 2013 in September 2024 just gives me Half-Life: Lost Coast. I uninstalled and tried it a second time, same thing. Not your fault, just pointing out that Valve screwed up or removed the SDK from Steam
That's intentional. It's not an actual SDK, it's a generic source engine base that you can use to develop your own mods. The level from Lost Coast is just used as the menu background in the default preset. You don't need to do this anymore, though. There's an actual gmod version now.

I find a real solution for "The specified module could not be found" error. So, number one, if your game doesn't open at all. BE SURE YOU SELECT THE RIGHT .EXE FILE. Select it again because it sometimes getting messed up for no reason at all. Now for the solution: 1-Press F9 and select the expert compile menu 2-Select Default or full HDR and LDR compile for now 3-There must be 5 options on the list. Select the last one. There must be a text, something like "$game_exe" Delete that, press the "cmds" button, choose "executable". Navigate to your Garry's Mod folder and choose hl.exe. After that there are some commands on the parameters section like: -dev -console -allowdebug -hijack -game $gamedir +map $file Delete the "-game". Now run compile your map. It should work now. Additionally, you can put "-noworkshop" parameter, it will basically bypass the Garry's Mod workshop loading system and will directly put you into your map.
Hey so im having problems with the CS:S textures, they are showing up in hammer++ and the game however the textures have no shadows, almost like they have mat_fullbright 1, even though it is disabled. I saw a few errors that appeared in the compiling notes, or whatever they are called. material "cs_italy/wallpaper02" not found. Material not found!: CS_ITALY/WALLPAPER02 ConVarRef mat_reduceparticles doesn't point to an existing ConVar material "cs_italy/wfloor-sn00" not found. Material not found!: CS_ITALY/WFLOOR-SN00 Even if i runned the game on gmod manually the problem STILL went on. However in the lightning preview of hammer++, the textures seemed fine and works as expected. I saw some dude say its a problem with cs:s hdr but idek where to begin to fix that.

I found out by which he means parameters when compiling go to "Expert" below and there should be a box saying "Parameters."

I saw a few errors that appeared in the compiling notes, or whatever they are called.
material "cs_italy/wallpaper02" not found.
Material not found!: CS_ITALY/WALLPAPER02
ConVarRef mat_reduceparticles doesn't point to an existing ConVar

Even if i runned the game on gmod manually the problem STILL went on.
However in the lightning preview of hammer++, the textures seemed fine and works as expected. I saw some dude say its a problem with cs:s hdr but idek where to begin to fix that.
I have all of these errors in my bottom messages saying "Unable to read particle definition particles invalid format! Particle will not be loaded. " what do i do im stuck on this
