Deer hunting in the ADKs is a different ball game from what I’ve seen doing my research. I didn’t grow up in a family that hunted but I love to shoot and have plenty of friends that hunt. Always say I’m gonna finally get into it next year. I did get a bolt gun. So maybe next year lol
Yeah it is! It’s a completely different level to other types of deer hunting further south but I love the challenger of it and the idea of having the skill to be self reliant in a large wilderness really draws me too it. Especially after Covid! I like the idea of knowing I can always disappear into the Wilderness if I want too

Cheers Darren! I love it, I actually have two now… 7mm rem mag and a 6.5 creedmoor. I mean don’t get me wrong they aren’t like family heir loom type guns but for a good all purpose all weather rifle I can beat up on a little bit it’s great
Happy Thanksgiving Rob!! I was worried you were going to take the "polar bear plunge" before New Years Day. Nest trip across tha creek, take a snorkle! Me and some friends went packing up to Chair Mountain in Colorado. A lake form between 3 peaks to make a lake, and the lake pours down the mountain make the Crystal River. The lake is 14,000 Ft ele. I only had a fishing line, were my buds had real gear to fish. I had no luck and was crossing this creek i had crossed that was about 1 foot deep, but on the way back at the end of the day i stepped off in it where i though I had crossed, wrong,, I went up to my neck is 32.099999 degree water. My toes, barefoot, literally curled up to my heal, and my lungs locked up on empty. It was that same sunset thing, and i could not see how deep it was. Please be careful, haha!
Ouch!!! Oh man that’s not fun at all! Bet it felt good on those saw muscles after hiking though right? Like those athletes that take a nice ice bath after a good work out

Happy Thanksgiving Robert kicking back with no hangover day after thanksgiving I’ve been constantly moving cause i stopped drinking 4 months now no beer on thanksgiving first time in a long time I lost 40 pounds in 2 years I’m sorry I haven’t sat back and watch anything on tv I’m sitting here thinking about what I’m thankful for I pop on the tube sitting with my boys and my dogs and who comes on my big screen my friend Robert I know you will hardly ever hear this but thank you for all the time you put in to take old fks like me on an over night journey in the bush fresh tracks he was stand there eating when you came through love you man peace n love to your family Robert Happy Holidays family

Hi. I really enjoyed this adventure of yours. You fording that river was pretty exciting as I know at least here, in the PNW (West Cascades), there's a slimy algae that covers most River bottom rocks and it's slick as snot. So you rolled the dice on that one as you could have been like Jeremiah Johnson in that scene where he fell in the river and had to dry himself out in the freezing cold - ha, ha! Anyhow, exciting to watch and you're definitely entertaining. And that ultralight tent ain't exactly a winter tent so that just made everything a little bit more dodgy... good stuff and thanks, enjoyed.
There’s the same slimy algae here too! Had to be very careful with the footing so that I didn’t slip, I actually think the smaller rocks helped. If it had been one big slab rock it would have been very hard to stay upright

I’ve just found your channel and love your content. These camping videos are just so relaxing and put me to sleep at night. Me and my friends used to all go camping and white water rafting in our younger years😂. The reason I’ve chosen to comment is because I’ve noticed you drinking water from streams ( nothing wrong with it), and in another video you’d talked about weird dreams. You may need to do a parasite cleanse. Ya know parasites can do so much damage to our bodies. In insects and even small rodents parasites are responsible for driving some of them to commit suicide. This is the case for the cricket parasite. Anyways, parasites can be killed with a good cleanse or listening to 432 hz, which is the earths natural vibration.
Glad you had the courage to comment. I think Rob has it under control, he's a woodsman. Been watching him for over a year when I can't get out myself. Please know your advice is appreciated.

Wow thanks. I never even thought about something like that. I do always boil or filter my water when drinking from any stream or body of water and touch wood have never been sick but it’s definitely something I had not consider so thank you

I was wondering at the beginning why the hell is he putting waders on , now I know 😅 . Even a small stream can be hazardous , I'm a fly fisherman and know the anxiety of crossing one . Maybe you should have use a branch to have a second hold . Glad you came out ok .

Haha thanks Tony! I have a frame pack so I would have quartered it out and then picked it out on my back. It would have meant a couple of trips but it would have been worth it

I have a Tikka t3x lite in 7mm rem mag which is over kill but I bought it for hunting elk too. I had the barrel shortened to 20” to make it easier in the thicker timber
