Cyberpunk can show straight up “D”, Baulder’s Gate 3 can show Bear “lovin”, and TLO2 can show Abby getting “railed”. But Stellar Blade shows hips/cleavage and it needs toned down? These double standards are enough to make me leave consoles for good.
As someone that's far too familiar with Sony's censorship, this is one of the most underhanded by far. If this game ever goes to PC I hope modders go to town on any and everything possible. I just hope Sony doesn't screw over the modders and people's accounts over it because they seem to be quite adamant in not reversing the censorship if they are willing to go as far as offering refunds to people rather than change it back. It just feels like pure pettiness to me at this point.
Well it seems like they want to release the uncensored version since it's still in the code of the game. Feels weird that it would still be in the final version of the game if they didn't intend on having it be available. Could obviously just be left in there because they know people won't bother downpatching and they just said whatever
We can find all censored outfits by checking if clothing has 3D volume or not. For the bunny costume, you can see that the swim suit has thickness, but the inner wear doesn’t. It’s just paint. Similar to the straps on monsoon outfits. Both pearl outfits have paint covering her back. Red and yellow cybernetic dresses have a painted mesh covering her breasts, which is just a crisscross paint. No one in their right mind would call it an “artistic choice” and be speaking the truth. Anything that just feels like paint means it was added after design and development phases. Usually when censorship happens. Another aspect is to check for thigh bulge in costumes with thigh highs. ShiftUp put a lot of effort into creating bulges where outfit ends and Eve’s skin begins. If a costume doesn’t have a thigh bulge where the thigh-high ends, it’s just paint and was added later to cover her skin. Strangely, I could only see the thigh paint on Black Wave and Wild Wave outfits. Which is weird af. A lot of costumes have been censored even in 1.0
My bet is poor Kim Hyung Tae already made one set intended from the beginning. Didn't pass Sony so they toned down the "good stuff" and passed it as in the physical disks. Sony with the crony of woke journo army found dirt by the "hard-r" graffiti and slapped with the Day 1 patch update disguised as graffiti fix while hammering the censorship further to the poor Dev team. With all the restrictions of the contract gave the statement to make the censorship patch a legitimate move straight from the Devs.

I have the Digital Deluxe purchases and the bonuses appear in Xion when I update. This time I played v 1.0 Japanese version disk and then updated to v 1.02 in NG+ but the bonuses didn't appear. The Japanese version didn't auto update either...unlike the US version.
Apparently Sony was more fixated on the outcome of the western release rather than the Japanese version. Why force people to update when they choose not to?

hate to be a pain in the ass, but with no PS+ sub, if I erase the game (digital) is my progress saved anyway so when I insert the disc version and load that, can I get some previous progress back?Or best to just play the original until I get to the end and then do the mumbo jumbo digital ng+ upgrade and then go back to basic? Man I just haven't even bothered down patching because you can't take away the film grain and the picture quality is just way better And the animations for Eve are way better she actually looks sexy and knows that she's sexy in version 1.2 LOL because he stares and has like a really blanket squint like she's f****** hot as hell and does the stretch and foot tap and a couple other idle emotes when you're just standing there and she stares at you so you can get really good screenshots

Hey CMON! The stat limitations for a successful downpatch are - 5000 HP 2200 BETA 1050 ATK 8 TUMBLERS If your stats are higher than this they will break when you downpatch! In that case it is best to start a new save file! I hope that helps, thanks for the comment!

I have the digital version and I’m already almost at the last stage of NG. If I want to go back and install the uncensored version, would it affect my stats for NG and NG+ and would the game be playable after future updates?? I don’t mind starting over, just don’t want to mess around and make my game becomes unplayable and having to start over again one more time. 😅
I think 1.2 is much prettier.... And it makes Raven's costume more worthwhile lol... I don't remember if 1.0 has grain and chromatic aberration control, but it is in 1.2 and I consider it essential to leave it off
Yo Tokyo thanks for the guides man! I just checked my stats and found something interesting. So I downpatched when I was in the great desert and finished the game in 1.0. Moving onto NG+, I played on 1.0 until the stalker and got past the softlock on 1.2. Now I’m back in the great desert and I noticed that my max HP is 2000 but my attack power is 1050 and beta is at 2200. I picked up all cores in my 1.0 play through. What do you think? The desert Naytiba are two-shotting me, lol!
I wonder if it has to do with picking up “dummy” cores in 1.0 after hitting the max in NG+, then when getting past the softlock the game reset my max HP bc it didn’t recognize the HP?
When I say “dummy” I mean when you pick up the cores in NG+ in 1.0, you don’t get any animation about your cores increasing. My hypothesis is that the stat resetting has to do with 1.0 not recognizing the new “maximum” stats when you down patch after getting past the stalker

Well was it the gore and blood visuals in general that they nerfed? OR was that all kept the same, but it was specifically the blood splatter effects ON Eve that got nerfed?
They only have that on Demo when you finish the boss . On the actual game release they have already toned it down. I tested it myself with 1.0 disc. It's the same as 1.02 . All toned down. Only demo looks bloody.

Hey Headquarters! Imo if you want to collect everything & do a completionist run then 1.2 is the way to go! If you are looking for increased challenge, uncensored costumes and unedited graffiti or just prefer to have the freedom to choose which version to play, then getting physical & playiing 1.0 is the way forward! If your just doing it for the skin then i would agree! This was all inspired by the #freestellarblade campaign! Art should not be censored because it makes people feel uncomfortable! I'm definitely gonna do only uncensored from now on. The added features that can't be had in uncensored isn't worth losing the freedom to enjoy the game as it was originally intended. I beat the game on censored and bought a physical copy just to play uncensored. My favorite outfit cybernetic bondage looks much better. The bunny suit is no comparison to the censored one. Censored looks like half assed crap.

I hate to say it but in terms of censorship, xbox is way better with that kind of thing. Don't pisses me off
The game will still recognize your save file from the disck, just gotta go through the process of deleting the game and reinstall offline. Bam! New game+ uncensored 😎
Yeah, it’s just not worth it to downpatch just to show some extra skin. It’s just missing a lot of features.
Hey Headquarters! Imo if you want to collect everything & do a completionist run then 1.2 is the way to go! If you are looking for increased challenge, uncensored costumes and unedited graffiti or just prefer to have the freedom to choose which version to play, then getting physical & playiing 1.0 is the way forward!
If your just doing it for the skin then i would agree! This was all inspired by the #freestellarblade campaign! Art should not be censored because it makes people feel uncomfortable! Both patches have pros & cons, its for each player to decide for themselves which version they would rather play!

I'm definitely gonna do only uncensored from now on. The added features that can't be had in uncensored isn't worth losing the freedom to enjoy the game as it was originally intended. I beat the game on censored and bought a physical copy just to play uncensored. My favorite outfit cybernetic bondage looks much better. The bunny suit is no comparison to the censored one. Censored looks like half assed crap.

How to downpatch without physical
I only had 3500 HP when i beat the last boss and hard mode seemed easy enough as you shouldnt be getting hit anyway

Yhh, that makes sense! If your not collecting the memories your stats would be super low! It must of been a fun playthrough, sounds super intense! End game bosses were one shotting you ?
