There was a minute left in the first half and the Gophers punted on fourth down at about the Rutgers 40 or 45 yard line. Don't even suit up for the game if that's your mentality. May as well drop football altogether at the U of M.
It’s losses like this that proves that Fleck needs to go. Multiple losses to our biggest rivals proves that he needs to go cuz I’m tired of constantly losing to Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan. Fleck will never get the Gophers close to a Big 10 championship or national playoff. The only one that loves Fleck is Fleck himself.
As a ref there was horrible ref calling. They were a lot of holding calls that should have been called against rutgers and a couple pass interference calls that should have been made. The refs just seemed to be on the side of rutgers.
Minnesota couldn't run the ball and therefore couldn't force missed tackles. They couldn't wear down the Rutgers defense who seemed to have all the energy late in the game compared to Minnesota's defense.

They ended the game only missing one tackle (if I'm not mistaken), forcing fumbles, getting sacks and safeties, and literally dropped a couple interceptions. Athan torched the Gophers defense which is such a strange turn of events.

Gophers O line was horrendous. They got beat over and over, a few times with 3 defensive linemen rushing against 5 gophers. No excuse.
It almost looked deliberate on some plays. Worst I’ve ever seen PJs O line perform. Usually they play well.

Two of my favorite coaches in college football. coach Fleck and Schiano. Shame someone has to lose.
