- The Victoria State Emergency Service plays a significant role in the State’s road safety, responding to up to 1,400 Road Crash Rescues each year.
It takes great skill and training to ensure we have the right knowledge in difficult situations. The skills learned by our volunteers mean we can be on site to assist with extractions when people are in a road crash emergency situation.
VICSES provides the largest road rescue network in Australia, with 104 accredited RCR provider units across Victoria. That is one of the highest service delivery ratios for RCR globally - equating to 73% of our service base across our state-wide footprint. We work alongside Victoria Police and other emergency services to provide this service.
We are proud of the level of capability of our members who are road crash rescue accredited. If you want to be part of our service, head to ses.vic.gov.au/volunteer
