- PROCESS OF AUDIENCE POLLING FOR YOUR FILM COMPETITION
The audience polling for the shortlisted 11 directors and 9 music directors will start soon.
For the 11 directors, 3 polls will be parallelly posted (4+4+3) on the RUclips Community tab. After watching the director's test scenes, the audience can click on the name of the director ( whose scene they like the most ) to vote.
RGV Sir had given the following narrative for the test scene.
“Don’t torture me with the delay ..Just Shoot me?” Gupta whispers
Guru braces himself shuts his eyes and is about to press the trigger
Suri sharply says “You have to keep your eyes open and look at the man you are killing “
Guru opened his eyes and looking into Gupta’s eyes took a deep breath and shoots
Gupta’s body is thrown backward
Guru rubs his shoulder from the pistol kick and looks at Suri for approval
Suri puts his hand on Guru’s shoulder and presses it in appreciation
“You passed the test “ Suri says and Guru breaks into tears of gratitude and Suri hugs him to console him even as Gupta’s dead eyes stare at them

great casting and background score. by far the best scene directed.
Nice scene. Probably this and the Tamil movie were my favorites. Yours had a much fresh take than others and the Tarantino type banter and humor. The tension before the killing was also built up well. Sad to see you and the Tamil movie get less votes. But keep it up

Overall i liked the making...
Couples of observations : cameraman shadow is visible while both characters entering the building.
While talking both characters are holding gun trigger (which is wrong)

Do you think RGV will be impressed with the ringtone choices and the name Sathya? ;)
Good work but the main characters voice was a little immature, also I felt a lag. I don’t mean taking phone call is wrong but I didn’t feel the wavering and hesitation of the character through his actions or shaking of his hands or sweating or even him thinking of what will happen after he pulls the trigger etc… I think that instead of the other character saying stuff would make a bigger impact.

To Director,
This is excellent work. I, in no way want to disrespect your work. But, wanted to share few points hoping that it might help you, if any.
And if any or all of these don't make sense, I am open for constructive feedback.
# Initial shot was great, until the "gun and bullet" dialogue. Before his reveal, he was adjusting hair, threw out his collar and was super cool. Even without seeing his face, I was able to assume his emotion.
After the slow-mo though we had cut to show his face, and the lead had almost no expression to show his state. At best, I thought he was worried or scared. How can such a guy walk with with open/swinging arms before?
Adjusting hair and throwing away his collar. He should have walked with no confidence, arms close to the body and a bit bent.
And then, suddenly we had dialogues about women. Sudden shift in the tone. With the assumption that he is worried/scared, it didn't look write where he could converse with ease.
Cut to terrace, he is is panicking. He went from cool, panicking, casual and came back to panicking.
# The instructor/bhai was initially called "anna", later "bhai"
# The instructor/bhai acted quite well. Good lighting on him. But, why did he change his stance from a friendly guy in the alley to a serious guru/employer?
# Shouldn't have written a love letter to RGV. I get that you wanted to respect him. But, the concept, ringtone, and the name "Sathya" aren't required.
I remembered RGV and got distracted from the actual scene.
It would have helped if he was hesitant in picking up the call before the "bhai" and disconnects it twice. When he sees that the bhai is frustrated, he could have told that he had a temple plan.
And then, you could have moved to the joke fine.
# When the gun is pointed to the guy who is kneeling, we see that shadow is covering half of his face. It didn't look like that was the case earlier.
The same lighting looked cool on the instructor/bhai. The angle wasn't quite right for the guy kneeling though.
# Sathya's call - Temple plan in the night time?
# "Devudante bakthi anna" - (1) back to "anna" (2) Why the hand movement? He was collective until now. Became expressive all of a sudden.
# "Adhe na chivari korikanukunta?" - Anukunta enti? "Adhe na chivari korika" / "chivarisaariga na papa gonthu vinaalani undhi" ani unte baagundedhi.
# Post gun shot, iddari expressions baagunayi.
Again, I respect your work. Just some points I noticed.
