@@DakotaHighlander depends on how soon makes the $250k. He's working on some stuff already, (doing what he can as the money comes in). But his agreement with Disney won't allow him to crowdsource any money. I'm hoping he releases Pt 2 around the same time as Ep 9, so we can get a head to head comparison of the numbers. Could seriously embarrass the Hollywood producers like never before.
I'm like 99.99% positive that Star Wars Theory said he was completely fine with reaction videos and actually encouraged them. If my memory is correct, he mentioned it in one of his live broadcasts.

I feel the same way. When Disney announced that they were making a live-action series, I hoped it would be Vader and Bounty Hunters/Clone Troopers hunting down the Jedi who survived Order 66. They didn't give it to us, but SWTheory is. 😊

The "face reveal" to which he was referring is when we see Vader without his mask. I think the transition from rage to fear was what we saw in the eye color change.

@@renoslash1890 - I agree. The whole thing seems to be Anakin's struggle as Palpatine continues to try to turn him fully into Vader. Palpatine wants him to embrace his rage and abandon his hope.
@@TheLightSideReactions I love the concept of the dark side being one of arrogance and rage. Even the persona of Vader says he 'destroyed Anakin Skywalker' even though this ends up not being true. But the arrogance of The Emperor thought he could turn him into Vader, even though the rule of two predicts the apprentice defeating the master, show the destructive nature of the dark side, always destined to lose. Its like the snake eating it own tail. Shows how strong Anakin really was. Its why I will always be more interested in Anakin Skywalker over Vader.
The psychological and emotional undertones that opening dream sequence sets up is great. Vader’s conflict, anger and fear is on display and felt throughout this first episode.
Carrying that to the second episode will be phenomenal. Facing Mace Windu (who Anakin has always had tension with)in the tomb of his dead wife will be epic. Will it weaken Vader or draw him more towards the dark side of the force. Anakin couldn’t defeat Mace eight months after Revenge of the Sith so something has to happen to make that possible.

I agree the CGI is superb, especially the star fleet ships etc. I too though it looks more like unused footage from the Lucasfilm movies, rather than something fan-made.
It certainly looks like unused footage, but I saw the before-and-after as he put the finishing touches on some of the special effects. SWTheory certainly has a great production team working on these videos.

Star Wars: Legacy of the Force - fan film ( it's a almost word for word on screen adaption of Jacen and Jaina Solo's final battle Jacen and Jaina being the solo twins from the EU from the EU book Invincible, highly recommend )
Dark Legacy ( probably one of the best visual fan films I've seen with a pretty good dark side short story to boot )
Tie Fighter ( fan film done from the empires perspective, done in classic style anime very, very good )
Star Wars: A New Hope Animotion Trailer
( a new hope trailer done in Japanese done in the classic style of anime, very, very well done fan creation )
These are probably the most well done fan films I've seen recently and I would highly and fully recommend you watch and react to all of these fan films, you are missing out otherwise.
They'll blow your mind.
I can just imagine SWT is watching this video all stoked that people like you highly praise the film and use it as an example to show what a great Star Wars film can be.

There is one detail, that a lot of people don't pick up on. Is that when Vader says "As he wishes" his eyes lose their Sith yellow....and return to their natural blue color. Driving home the idea, that Anakin still lives.

Bro, just imagine how sick a rated R Darth Vader movie placed after the Clone Wars when he was hunting down the remaining Jedi would be. Bankrolled by Disney, but written and directed by true Star Wars fans with full creative freedom. I would literally pay a $100 ticket price at the theater to see that movie.
Yeah, this was approved by THE Lucas Films. This was released at a theatre just for promotional purposes. I think that when you review the recent SW films and the others that were released you find a lot of gaps. This is one of those gaps.

It wasent trials exactly that the emperor would put Vader through but more so send him on suicide missions he would torture him mentally try to indirectly kill even vaders suit was purposely designed to be a faulty, painful, and uncomfortable pile of out dated crap that would even keep him from ever fully healing, the emperor wanted him in constant pain and wanted his suit to be especially weak to force lightning(hence why Vader was injured so easily when he saved Luc)

P.S. This was apparently made on a $100,000 budget, by Star Wars Theory and I think he said there will be upto 5 or 6 more episodes if he can continue to get funding. Thing is he is under a contract with Lucas Film that says he can make it, but he can't make any money off of it. At least that is the info I read.

Why? This SWT film is great and fans love it. I'm so glad these characters are getting fleshed out so well by fans, and it gives me hope that whatever Hollywood decides, we'll always have good content to enrich this beloved SW universe.

But people saying this is better than the past 7 movies is a bit of a shallow opinion. I get that everything in the world of TV and movies everything is subjective to personal opinion, but if people have to shit all over so many hours of hard work from passionate film makers (crew as well as actors/directors) then I personally don't put much stock in those opinions. I like this fan film. But its like feeding a banquet to a someone who hasn't eaten in two weeks (because Vader fan service)

Its because Disney don't make star wars films for fan boys. They make them for as many people as possible. This fan film is made especially for people who think the way SWT does, which is fine.

I hope these fan films become the new Star Wars apart from anything Disney puts out. It is for the fans by the fans. Anyone who dumps that much money into this without being paid a dime for their efforts is going to have the saga's best interest at heart. I am looking forward to this more than episode 9. I'm not even excited to see episode 9.
Its a fan film... too bad that it outperforms ALL of Disney's Star Wars combined... as a fan film should be created to enrich the story, yet, since we were given for many years terrible stories, this is being used as a sense of redemption... wait until the true fans of Star Wars begin looking forward to Shards of the Past more than the next Episodes of Disney's Star Wars. If Disney can make their next episode surpass their previous episodes, at least they would get applause, but one year of a good movie after so many poorly created ones is not that appealing. I'd say, Disney needs a good 5 or so years to earn the trust of Star Wars fans before we can accept them. Otherwise, the true loyal fans should be sticking to fan films, just to prove a damn point.
Almost like how Star Trek Discovery I hear is utterly terrible, with horrendously unlikeable characters, nor relatable. Whereas Orville is a knock off of Star Trek, it provides the core and true feeling of Star Trek. Much like Vader: Shards of the Past, it provides true Star Wars, whereas the "real" Star Wars is butchered.

True Star Wars is about how the internal struggles of powerful individuals manifest in the universe. It's a story of a Galactic military campaign, personal tragedy, growth, redemption, love and passion.
The medium is "family friendly" but the core themes and overall stories are about intense physical and emotional conflicts, and how they play off each other.
@@dirtnugget5968 I agree, but I don't accept that just because Disney makes Star /Wars films now that those things don't apply. I also don't accept that ANY PERSON who worked on any of the new Star Wars films doesn't have the same level of passion in their work that SWT has when he made this film. Its sad to see so many comments saying that the last 3 to 7 movies have less worth that this FAN film. No disrespect to it, I liked it. But it comes off the back of 1000's of peoples hard work that came before it.
@@dirtnugget5968 Very true. Unfortunately, I know more about Halo than I do Star Wars. Then again, my main focus for many years *was* Halo. Only recently has my focus changed from how much good in the world there was, to how little its become. If I were ever able to type the same message you just did, it without a doubt would have taken me weeks, months... maybe a year, just to accumulate that kind of information to have an empowering say into something (not talking about entitlement, ofc).
