My headcanon is that their plays still sell out due to the fact that it’s unintentionally hilarious to watch. So they keep having the funds to try again, it just never goes well.
I love the wood chopping part. For like 3 takes it was always out of sync with his motion until he just points at it in the 4th take and it breaks apart.
recently met Dave Hearn and Charlie Russell (who are absolutely lovely btw!!) and they sadly confirmed there will not be a season 3 of the goes wrong show :( still, go watch the first two seasons if you haven't already!!
For me it is the union jack. The character had to enter the scene and do all the actions which do not appear to be made as a "mistake" yet still looks completely out of place. I even tried watching the original episode to get context but it doesn't help. it is out of context no matter what but it is still one of the more satisfying moments in the show since the action isn't tied to anything going wrong.
@@valianthorizon6890 I disagree. I think it's a good response. Adding in him shouting the punchline to that scene adds more context, and this video is specifically scenes without context, so less is more
@@valianthorizon6890 How is that not a good response? The point of the video is that they are taking out of context… It’s supposed to be chaotic and strange.
It's funny how the prison cage (stage prop) keeps falling apart everytime and have to be put back together by the cast, what's even funny at the end of the play were the cage came down on top of the cast like if they're back in prison again😄😆😂
It's a TV show about a theater troupe whose plays always go wrong in some way, usually in a lot of ways consistent with the characters in the show. Each episode has a different play go wrong. The group of actors shown have been involved in developing many such shows for theater and TV and the characters carry over across most iterations, though some of the actors shown here have played differenr roles in the past (though one could also explain this as their characters having had different functions in those past performances). Various shows have been adapted or played by different casts as wel.
I always see these guys as a bunch of siblings who have to keep up with each other and stay together because unfortunately, they live in the same house. Chris is definitely the older sibling, it’s been years now that he tries to keep his younger siblings calm and stop them from doing something wrong, with no success unfortunately, making him have anger issues. Robert is the second child, jealous of Chris first child position as he also wants to be the one to command the others and always try to steal his place by being louder than anybody else. Vanessa is the third child, with the same father as the others but not the same mother, therefore she is their half sister. She is bad at lying, improvising when someone do something wrong and they have to hide it, she just goes with the flow and try to keep up with her half siblings. Sandra and Jonathan are the fourth and fifth children, being twins. Sandra is lacking attention from her parents and that’s why she always try to over play to get as much attention and love as she can get. Meanwhile, Jonathan is the unlucky twin who never succeeds at anything and who always have bad thing happening to him. Trevor is the sixth child. He has the same mother as the others but not the same father, making him their half brother. He originally wasn’t supposed to grow up with them but he accidentally send his mother to the hospital after destroying their house when he actually wanted to clean it. Now he has to grow up with his half siblings in his father house and always destroy everything. Annie is the seventh child. Her parents were certain she was going to be a boy but she turned out to be a girl. However, she loves disguises and always play a different character every day, making her hard to understand. She can be a girl, a boy, a dog…nobody knows. She is full of energy too. Lucy is the eighth child. She was actually accidentally exchanged at birth. She was supposed to be the biological daughter of a rich and successful family but ended up with them instead. She is clearly different from her siblings and is scared of their mischief, especially Robert mischief. She tries to not draw too much attention on her. Dennis is the ninth child. He was a precocious baby and sometimes he seems like a genius, sometimes a total imbecile. He can keep a secret from his siblings with no problem because he won’t remember it anyway. He is not good at doing his homework but very good at doing his other siblings homework, even if they are a different grade than him. Max is the tenth and last child (well, that’s what his parents hope.). He is Max. Nothing else to say.
Honestly under all the mistakes, some of them are actually pretty good plays, like Harper’s Locket or Summer Once Again. Though maybe not The Pilot (not the pilot) just thanks to pure historical incorrectness.
Watching this before watching the show, I knew the Trial episode was about wordplay so I thought that the "living room" part was wordplay on "breathing room" and not because of the living room set.
Well I am glad that Chris has takes control as the director of the play but after that disaster from Downton-esque family saga the casts are fed up with Robert's arrogant behaviour that they're glad to Chris back. Well at least Chris is not as bad as Robert as despite of many mistakes in Shakespeare play at least he did made the rest of the cast do the same scene over and over again like Robert did. Although Robert isn't too happy about no speaking lines for the character he's playing but continued to ignore Chris's directing in the whole play. My favourite secene is were Vanessa looks like if she's about to throw up🤮 as she feels uncomfortable hearing more of Dennis's terrible tudor singing about meats🍖🥩🍠🍗.
Robert is a lot worst than Chris as the director of this play as he keeps repeating the opening scene three times all because he wants the whole scene to be perfect that he made a lot more mistakes and then rush the rest of the scene to the end which everyone including Chris to be annoyed with Robert for his behavious.
I feel like reality itself is becoming a version of the goes wrong show ...but maybe that's just because I'm an American and it's another election year 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (?) ((or maybe life on this planet has always been this way 🤔😅))
Review of the Goes wrong show: First of all love the concept, theming and execution of keeping actors in-line with the mistakes. A couple of things that I dislike: Known characters, you know who is the most talkative role, you know who is the annoying characters etc. I personally dislike the big man and while it is part of his act it seems like he does not know how to act to me. The mistakes are very focused, I interact with curtain. Curtain fails. I "act" behind invisible curtain. Or pointing out obvious things that are the complete opposite. Characters are way too focused on mistakes which detracts from the show, its okay if you pick up the whole landline rather than the phone once but is gets annoying when something like the Piano plays multiple times or drunken Santa is engaged for too long. It should be more of a I tried my best okay? Rather than I act out scene with the mistake in place and causing a cascading effect. Way too visual focused and not enough verbal focus. I think this was done to be more thematic but still something to point out. Onto the good: I LOVE the "in-universe" gimmicks. Like the adjectives in Lodge or the broken celling in Locket leading to rain afterwards. They are mistakes that were intended in the script and lead to other "mistakes" that probably wouldn't have happened. Character roles can be good at times if executed well. Theming is fantastic Pacing seems good but almost too good for being about mistakes. Opening crawl impacting the show is a nice original execution
Robert throwing the broken fire extinguisher at Chris absolutely kills me.
I just love how that’s the first thing that comes to mind

Not to mention the double K.O. he pulls on Vanessa and Annie
