I will miss seeing Kevin on the track. After NASCAR's darkest day, we were looking for a new hero to follow... Kevin fit the bill. On and off the track, he has been a champion. Thank you for all the memories from your great career!!!
I am a retired firefighter. When I get together with some of my brothers in the fire service, we would have the same table talks that you are now experiencing with your former racing brothers. It's a great feeling to be around those who have experienced similar things in your life. It's a true brotherhood but just in a different career. I enjoy each and every show Dale.
To see that 29 on the car again was something special for the diehard Harvick fans. Back in May I took my family and drove 10 hours to SHR just to see the 29 car one last time.
One more excellent example of the integrity, honor and respect given in this podcast. This podcast also sets the bar for whatever other podcast should work towards. Everything is on the board, respectfully, and boundaries are in place and functioning very nicely. Everything is about respect, integrity and honor, given and received.
My favorite moment with Kevin is the pits at Daytona. I only had a cold pass so getting a chance to meet him was not in my favor. I don’t know why but he stuck his head out of his trailer and I threw up my new Harvick shirt and yelled, “please sign for my dad.” He had me come up to the stairs and he signed it then disappeared behind the door. I was so thankful. Junior I was also there another year and people were tripping over you to get an auto. You told everyone that day to be patience and signed along the fence for all the fans in the fan zone. I got a selfie with ya through the fence (Newman said he didn’t like the jail pic) lol Stewart is my fav driver. He totally blew me off several times. Never got a chance to meet him. I was so bummed. Just taking a few seconds for fans means a lot. I love both you guys and will miss you guys behind the wheel. Just thankful we get to continue to share moments with y’all. Thanks for some amazing memories.
If you wanted to talk to Tony you needed to take him to a strip club lol sorry just saying 😂he used to come to Madison year's ago and they'd party at Rich Bickel's strip club in Bristol, WI. close the bar down then go across the street to Rich's shop across the street and party till daylight 😂
@@jimgillett1184 hahaha I swear no bs, I have an auto of him on a 8x10 and the modified he was driving at New Smyrna was sponsored by Sharks Lounge. The car is in front of the place and he’s surrounded by girls. I was stationed overseas and my parents who worked at the track and for Gary Balough, got it signed for me. I was wanting to tell him who my family was but never got a chance. He held my sister up at the pit window by her feet and she drew a straw for him for his starting position. I don’t know if she cheated but maybe. 😂
@@jimgillett1184 sounds like a great time man. Nothing like hanging out with racers outside the track. My claim to fame is sitting by Ted Christopher after a speedweeks race. We would go to a local place called Pub 44 and watch that nights races. Sometimes a fight would happen. Man I miss it.
I was at fan day at RCR and was lucky enough to get Kevin's and Richard's autographs. It was great being there and hearing their stories. Fabulous day and I loved it. Thank you, Kevin. Wishing you all the best on your retirement.
I truly believe Kevin will be absolutely amazing in the booth! Witness how he’s performed there to date and factor in the retired aspect and there’s the proof. I look forward to seeing him alongside the team in his element. Giddyup!
Much respect for one happy harvick. In a 29. Forever. I love seeing his first 2001 #29 gm goodwrench Chevy for example in the summer of this year, I just wish nascar brings back the 29 after him.
I hope they make a career documentary. I'm glad I got an autographed diecast of that same car. It was amazing to see Kevin's last race in person. Thank you Keelan for the first bump.
Dale your podcast are far and above anyone else's!! The thoughtful questions you ask are really awesome and you make each person who sits at that special table where memories are made and some memories are relived and there's always some humor thrown in for good measure!! What a Precious Priceless Treasured BLESSING you and Mike, Kelley and Amy and the others behind the scenes contribute to keeping Nascar alive and bringing it back to the GLORY it once was. I don't think it will ever be as great as when your Precious Dad was racing but you have certainly made it more memorable and enjoyable. Thank you Dale Jr for All you and the fabulous team you have surrounded yourself with. Keep these podcast going. I can't get enough of the stories. Love you all 💞🤗💞🌟🌟🙏🙏🙏🙏🏁🏆🏁
For me, the 29 at the all star race was awesome, in terms of the throwbacks, not gonna lie I got a little choke up seeing it because of the memories of watching that car in ‘01, and the fact I figured it would never happen again. I’d love to see some of the stuff scheme wise they didn’t get to do. Personally, I was hoping to see the ‘03-‘06 GM Goodwrench paint scheme, maybe with Mobil1.
Thats gotta be how he won the 500 in 07. Because if you watch his onboard, there are several moments where his RPM's skyrocketed and he get these insane runs. Epecially on the last lap right before Kyle Busch tried to throw a block on him.
Its too bad the return to the 29 car was overshadowed by the return to north wilkesboro. Both deserved to be celebrated. The story of the return to 29 was both a testament to the respect Harvick has earned as well as the respect that Childress deserves. SHR also.
If you can't see it, it might help you. If you can see it, it definitely helps you. Every team does stuff you can't see. When it's blatantly obvious, that's when it's a problem.
I'm guessing when Robert Yates milled the face of the heads at a different angle then the face of the intake on the 28 car, giving it a permanent vacuum leak, had something to do with the sniffer test being created as well.
Am I the only one living in an alternate reality or has Chase Elliott never had a different number for the all star race? Only time he's changed numbers is between seasons.
Only thing I can think of is when Jimmie ran the 5 and Mark Martin the 25 in I believe the 2011 All-Star Race. Perhaps he's mixing up Mark running the 25 with Chase's starts in the 25 and thinking Chase switched to the 25 for an All-Star Race at some point?
When Kevin was telling how he informed RC that he was leaving the company and doing it the "right way" I couldn't help but think of how Tyler Reddick left the company. Be willing to bet RC won't do him any favors like he did Kevin if he even has anything close to the career that Kevin has had.
Kevin told the story about partnering with the 29 number and Busch beer. I was wondering if throwbacks games at Darlington come to fruition in the same way. Is it really a simple as calling up the marketing department of a current, or a previous sponsor, who may or may not be in NASCAR anymore, and asking if they would be OK with doing this? even changing the logos to match the ones in the past?
Happy Harvick!!! I guess he really is the last of the "old guard".........But anyway, what seems odd to ME is how I've watched so many greats come and go. 👃😎👃

His photo finish win at Atlanta was definitely a moment of healing for those grieving the loss of Dale.

I wasn’t able to be there on Sunday, so I went to the truck race and then stayed and watched the heat races just to see the 29😊

Loved watching Honest Chad Knaus @ work with his creative mind > not cheating ,he just loved those grey areas .
I would have loved looking him in the 29 for the last race, but it was great looking him in it for the All-star race.
I remember when he beat Jeff Gordon at Atlanta in 2001 in the spring race 😊

Man it sucks seeing him retire!!!
Would love to see you all have Kevin back on a semi-regular basis. Countless stories need to be told.
Love hearing these stories.
I always thought the early to mid 2000’s 29 paint schemes were his best
That paint scheme Harvick had in 2003 is still the best looking car of all time
Much respect for one happy harvick. In a 29. Forever. I love seeing his first 2001 #29 gm goodwrench Chevy for example in the summer of this year, I just wish nascar brings back the 29 after him.
#29 FOREVER! The black and silver shark paint scheme best ever 100%.
Never harvick fan but when you went to ford I gain respect. Besides JR being in Big E car glad to see you stepped in.. congrats happy retirement..

You know, not that long ago Harvick wasn't my favorite driver, but I have to admit, I've started to like him a lot more in his retirement.
I run the #29 on my racecar because of Kevin and his 29 car
I love how Kevin never said if it was RCR or SHR what did the intake trick….. well the thumbnail of the video did😂

There's not a better looking racecar design to this day like that tribal flame 29 goodwrench car in the thumbnail.

@@mikeczerniakowski8909 Also JJ 2011 , I was there. Jimmie ran the 5 car for Lowe’s discount.
So this is how he beat mark Martin at Daytona..

I wonder if this what they used when SHR dominated talledega that year.

Need to get Kyle Petty back on and ask him about some of those cars he ran Rockingham with in the early 90's when he crushed the field 😮😅
I call bs on the leaky intake manifold. It would lean a motor off and it would burn down

Happy Harvick!!!

That’s a new one!
Harvick showed up at the Oxford 250 with his own car and just waxed the whole field. He sold the car but he took the carburetor and intake home. Lol
Gonna be wild watching nascar without Harvick.
Man, it's all weird. Dale Jr gone, JJ part time, Harvick gone, Kenseth, Biffle, Edwards, Gordon, Newman. All of em from back then.
one thing wrong. 29 was a Chevrolet and not a ford.
If you're talking about the die cast, that's from this year's all star race.
Was from this year pay attention 😉
