Como's great talent was singing as though he was just now thinking of the words and singing them just for you. He didn't need gimmicks or dramatic flare, just heartfelt delivery. He and Nat Cole were the best at this in my opinion.
Como’s relaxed delivery was his trademark. He put tremendous work into his singing while making it look like no effort at all. Bob Hope once cracked that Perry Como and Jack Benny should team up “and make still pictures.”
