I understand it works for him now at the highschool level, but it wont be as effective as guys get bigger and more athletic in advanced competition. Its not that pro players cant do it, its that its not a good "special" move to "have in your arsenal"

LilCAm3211 it's about much more than being tall, it's about core and lower body strength, athleticism, kinetic energy, weight, hand size, balance and coordination, body type, timing, it's a lot more involved than just jumping. It is literally scientific reasoning to jumping. 6'3 and I can get up, but I have a 5'8 cousin who can jump clean over my head.

Trae Jefferson can hoop. FOR SURE. And he has a plethora of moves. But here's my thing. When you get to D1 and NBA level, you only have time for one move and to the basket, take a jumper, or move the rock. You can't have 7/8/9 dribbles to yourself in one position. That's not real offense. I just don't see him doing this to a Michigan State defense or last years Florida team.
