Wow very relaxed and understands his work from start to end, we need such a professional who knows how to respond when asked a question. Well done James.
Am impressed by the genius of Ayugi and team. However, the journalist should have been well versed in IT- softwares, a good researcher on such systems and the like. For a start she has tried. This is the way to go despite the risks. It is a road less travelled but the journey has to be made
The journalist is talking as a layman, to allow you understand. We are not doing codes etc
She has really tried .In fact she has asked the questions an ordinary man in the village would ask.
Congrats James, issues well articulated. You are calm.
I know this guy.. he did for me a website for tourism way back..2012👍
Good. How is the website holding up?
I really love this story. There were even huge and international brands also bidding
Mr. E-Citizen Himself... This is the real guy behind e-citizen, wengine ni kusema tu. Congratulations bro, this is well explained.
Probably the only PR piece the government needs on this matter.
HE IS VERY BRIGHT AND EDUCATED.
Am proud of you Mr James, calm and composed and well knowledgeable to your craft
My high school mate, proud of you, Jemo.
The interviewer was supposed to be a person who is well versed with IT.
The interviewer is very shallow .. sad . Should be more wide. Otherwise ICT is the way to go
I will disagree with u...you just require the basics of ICT like ICT 101 or 102 for interviews...what did u expect her to ask...did u expect her to ask about coding and secrets of government...of course that info is secretive n cannot be disclosed...she doesn't have to dig so much n paint the guy negatively
Congrats man you have good brains ......
Very good interview.. public interest.🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Okay, this one was for the masses, now please do another one with an interviewer with a technical background
Excellent!
ECitizen makes sense. The only issue is how secure is it?
How secure is Mpesa
Very secure. The team and technologies used are top tier
great Job
Brilliant mind..
As Kenyans we have to bite a bullet in order to successfully fight the monster called 'Corruption '...So digitising all gvt services is a great move by Ruto as long as kenyans will see value for the moneys as this move solve the problem of collection but it doesn't solve the question of government expenditure.
We wish! currently to get a good conduct u ave 2 pay guys in the dci 4it 2released or else wait 4 three months same case to passports ..Corruption in Kenya can't be erased
I'd like to hear more about the use of block chain for protection of the privacy and accuracy of, sensitive data and transactions.
Why is it not working now? The kuucps is not working.
People use Mpesa. Sometimes Mpesa goes down but they still use it. If E-citizen is not working people will still use it since its the only option to get govt services. Why are Kenyans scared of technology but in the developed world thats what they use and even less developed
Great information
Change is ok but we have 2 questions. 1. Cybersecurity . How secure is this sensitive server 🤔. 2. Passport is form on ID . Those in diaspora find it impossible to create account due to ID (kipande that keeps changing) only access.🤔. This creates doubt on cyber capabilities of the e- citizens 🤔. If simple passport changes can not be transferred smoothly 🤔 what about cyber security threats 🤔. 3. Kenya welcome foreign individuals to rig data 📊 to favor the presidential election outcome, How safe will this centralized system secure data 🤔most advanced countries don’t take such risks of putting all eggs in one basket. Can we find a better system because we are not disciplined and professional enough to handle basic information. Start with passport renewal problems in diaspora. Coming to Kenya to renew or to get changed type of passport/ kipande is a luck capability of IT systems. Kenya is the only embassy that tells its citizens to go to Kenya to handle passport yet immigration has all the files 🤔. This government server is not efficient , not cyber savvy and not perfect for such advanced systems of operations . Keep improving 🇰🇪🇺🇸❤️😘😘
I remember sometime last year we were hacked by Sudan government 😅
Is game changer
Misleading tittle-Mr.Oyugi says government owns 100% but still write “the man who owns ecitizen. On the other side The journalist interviewer runs an interview where she doesn’t want to understand how the E-citizen work but who owns the platform..
My thoughts too
Owns and behind are two different prepositions. Your idiocy is of legendary proportion. You risk embarrassing yourself in future, swayni
He owned it for the longest time...offering it's services to the government.
He does not own it. The government holds a 100% ownership license for the platform. What the individual possesses is ownership of the intellectual property contained within the software that the platform operates. @@bobmattakwa6948
I remember this guy from the once upon a time Kenya Social Network
He's brother Davie is the founder of Mpesa platform
Proud of our James

Proud of you....with love from the dala
Commendable job
The corrupt will fight back
Ati owner? These are skewed journalists. If you contract a building contractor to build you a house, is the contractor the owner of that house?
Wewe ni takataka ya binadamu. Wivu ndio imefanya your appearance is scary. They said he's behind ecitizen not that he's the owner. Or because he's nilote? There is nothing you can do about it, they are sharp.
@@johndalton23they said he’s the owner. You took the discussion to a whole other perspective talking about victims and nilotes when everyone is focusing on the journalist.
If you aren't aware of something just stay calm. I worked on part of the platform as an intern at Value Chain Factory and can tell the government took his project and not him doing a government task
He approached me to be part of the project when he came up with the concept way way back then and the government had no idea that's why we call him Mr. e-Citizen, he owned it for the longest time offering the service to the government of Kenya... Great brains there.
Fool, it's his idea
What about paying tokens via e citizen this is the same concept for others
Ecitizen should think of upgrading , say whatever you want but its outdated platform for this age.
What is the issue. Everything is going digital. Unlesss you want your information in files that get lost, pay bribes for your file to be availed, files packed in storage rooms or warehouses for luck of space. The world is going digital and we need to move with the rest of the world. All advanced countries and many developing countries have all moved digital. So this thing of Kenyans making a big deal is a non issue. Just move with it and get over with it.
Please explain how schools will access the money for daily operation of school activities _will children starve as they wait for disbursement of funds from treasury
The eyelids though
Great exposition done in layman's terms. The citizenry need to be properly informed.
Broo looks just tech💯
Owner?
My thoughts😢
😮
Calm and gentle not like those with house affordable who sweat to teath when they cant tell the public about their scamming sensesion.
Your English bundle balance is 0. Please dial *254# to re-charge your account.
But the question is their E-Citizen without Mpesa to M-PESA is E-Citizen
This dude is sharp, but for kenyan case money is looted when in procurement stage, meaning corruption will prevail like never before, and again he says government has seen its progressive results of collecting more revenue, why is it that no service on matters development!where is the money going?
Corruption finally explained
Bright nilote

i think the interviewer doesn't have some background on IT.
Wacheni upuzi ,, James mwangi come out with equity bank & focus on real mwanainchi then equity become a good one to all Kenyans so today if oyugi come out with this please Kenyans late us tujifunie ,, remember Kenyans that coz of our tribalism in employment in telecom is the one Leeds us not to come out ally on mobile communication , were foreigners come out with safaricom & airtel ,, today all benefits coming from safaricom , mpesa it be coming from telecom ,, but ukabila tukajiri managers walio focus kwa mshahara na wizi only ,, oyugi gooooooohhh ahead tukuunge mkono
The lady really wanted James to say the new Paybill belongs to the president. Such hate from journalists towards someone make me wanna puke
Journalist,please prepare well next time

E citizen - at least the visa part, has some too many unnecessary and redundant questions .
Did i hear 'E citizen owner'???
Software developer. Government bought from his company.
@@norbertwetoyi6550not bought, contracted to design and develop.
E citizen in Kenya with the levels of corruption is like leaving your door’s unlocked. A whole new level of crime. You all saw what happened to opening doors to loans from china and others… 12 trillion in debt so far… and counting. E citizens would load another 10 trillion by end of Rutos term. Rest in peace Kenya
What's your alternative to e-citizen Sir?
@@isaiahongonga3136 Clean house. Because this e citizen ideas is coming from the same poisonous trees that put Kenya in this terrible debts we are in.. with nothing to show for it. It’s only going to end with more debt. Clean house first then everything else after that.

They know where to get the brains when needed but end up killing them to defend their corruption because such a brain doesn't work like a cattle rustler. His values are elsewhere. He only needs to be cautious that they fetched Chris Msando from Britain for his brain but what did they do with him?
How’re you even reasoning? I’m a Luo but very disappointed in you.
You have no info in this please, I have worked on the platform through Value Chain n will tell you it was his
DDoS attacks are quite rudimentary and practically non existent in the current age, the data center you are hosting government platforms on should surely style up. And it is not expensive to attack via DDoS, dont lie sir, computing power is relatively inexpensive.
