Thank you for sharing your experience as a solo black female traveler. Our experience is very unique and its always helpful for other solo travelers (like me) to be aware of before visiting somewhere.
I've been to amsterdam many times (20+) and as a Black person I dont feel out of place at all, for a country in europe they are very multi cultural and I have always been treated well there
Thank you, I would like to believe that my experience was solely on the neighborhood I was in and maybe the time of day I was out and about but I am happy to know that your experience was more positive.
Hey girl! Yes so my first try was ehh, I think I would try solo traveling again in the states and I am hoping for a better outcome. You should definitely try it though just to see if you are into it or not. Thank you for watching!
Americans are not always in their element when they travel to Europe, you guys are cheerful, talkative, welcoming and warm, things people here in Europe are not sadly....i live in Paris and it's the opposite of the traits I mentioned before, my dream is to move to Amsterdam someday, Dutch people can seem to be cold but they're friendlier than the French, also the vibes are lot better, you girl are so brave to travel to Europe solo, waw, I know few American men who can't do that...I'm sorry you experienced that situation dear, still praying for a world where people stop with this color BS and start loving each other's souls, also, you are VERY beautiful and your voice is so soothing, and oh your energy and your vibe...bless you girl, xo
Hi, sorry for the late response. I saying this, they were pretty friendly, I also think I was overthinking alot because I can be hyper aware but all in all tried to make the best out of the situation. Thank you soo soo much for the compliments as well. Wishing you all the best, I hope you do make that move to Amsterdam soon!
Yesss girl I enjoyed this video so much. I'm a person of color as well and I will be leaving for Amsterdam this Sunday on a solo trip. So ty u have a new subscriber 💥💖💖💖💥
The solution to good photos while solo travelling is to buy an Insta 360... seriously you don't even have to be in frame.... the 360 degree feature allows you to frame afterwards
girl I am black born in the Netherlands, what strikes me is that you are constantly aware that you are black and that you are not comfortable, be proud that you are black, those few black people you saw in Amsterdam were at ease. In other cities in the Netherlands you meet more black people, but they are not like you constantly aware that they have a different color!! I think something is wrong where you come from!!
1. I am extremely proud & comfortable to be black. 2. Yes, I am constantly aware that I am black because unfortunately in some places you get treated a specific way based on the color of your skin. Thank you for watching!
If you meet black people in Amsterdam chances are they are from Surinam, Caribbean or Nigeria, Ghana. Most live in the southeast (Bijlmer) of Amsterdam or Amsterdam Noord. If you live in Amsterdam there's no need to hang out in the tourist centre that much.
@@maggie1000 I would say Amsterdam is always worth visiting, but I wouldn’t restrict myself to that, so you could take a train to Rotterdam, just because it’s completely different than Amsterdam. Or you can choose to visit Utrecht which typically Dutch but smaller and definitely less touristy. But if you ask me the most beautiful city. All within 30 minutes by train from Amsterdam. If you go in the spring, try the keukenhof, if you like flowers there’s nothing better. If you plan to visit the Anne Frank house, book your ticket a few months ahead or it’s sold out. And when in Amsterdam looking for affordable great food take the metro to Bijlmerplein. For food I would advise looking for Indonesian (often combined with Chinese) or Surinamese restaurants. They have great food for reasonably prices. And you can find them in all the bigger cities. If you're into fish and you see a fish stand or shop. order a kibbeling or lekkerbek, you get freshly fried fish which is a great snack during the day. If you need more advise, just leave me a respond.
