Its good to see funky tunes being played on an SG bass
He's got an excellent tone. Is it a heavy bass? Not that I'm suggesting buying one would make you play like this, but it sounds good.
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 From what others have said, Gibson basses are light as a feather compared to your Fender Jazz/P-Bass
I used this to nail the rhythm guitar and I have to say it was fun jamming with you lol
You totally get it my man! I was gonna skip your video but I'm so glad I didn't. (I'm a Jamerson/Motown-ologist) Jamerson was fighting alcoholism so Babbit was next up to bat. For years I thought it was Jamerson on Mercy but when I found out it was Bob Babbit I was blown away. ( same with sign sealed for Stevie) Babbit? From Scorpio? From rare earths get ready? Anyway I loved your performance. Bad notes don't bother me. You can fix that with practice. But you got feel! That comes from inside. It's organic! if you have to practice feel , you don't have it (IMO). Nice!
Bigman 920, Glad you found out about my brother Bob's (born Robert Kreinar) Motown performances. Marvin told Bob to play what he felt on Mercy. Bob recorded many more top tunes - over 200 top 40 hits - when he went east after Motown went to LA.
@@ckrein414 Your brother is a legend! He's like the Scottie Pippen of bass players lol Hard being great next to Jordan! I've seriously thought about doing a whole book just on Bob Babbitt. He is so underrated.
Woah I missed this post.
BABBIT WAS YOUR BROTHER?
The guy that did SCORPIO?
Who MANY bass players consider the greatest solo of all time?
God bless bro!
Love the vids, and that's gotta be the sickest bass I've ever seen!
Thank
You for this cover
Incredible
❤ Love You
Awesome
Thanks man...
Excellent
Babbit was a brilliant bassist.......but Jamerson was a genius.
Woooow ¡ perfect
You appropriating, no soul devils steal everything don't you
Normally don't reply to comments like this but I had to say this. Whilst we of other ethnic backgrounds may not relate to every song on this record (which I personally love) we can certain relate to at least some of them, in particular this song, which is about the environment and the destruction humanity has caused. I am sure that Marvin Gaye released this with the intention of reaching the world with his messages. What triggers you so badly about someone simply covering the bass part of this song?
Don't worry. It's generally a rare phenomenon...lol
Bob Babbitt was a white guy you muppet
