Hi Katharine, you are such a wonderful teacher! I am 65 from Malta, where English is taught from the first year in school, but it’s so great to keep learning from such a great teacher like you. One idiom I use is “it’s water under the bridge”. Thank you so much! 👍❤️
Yes, nowadays I have a lot on my plate because my syllabus is not finished yet as it is huge in a short time and I've to nip it in the bud. And yes, sometimes it happens in my exam that something is on the tip of my tongue but can't remember when needed, I need to revise. If I complete my challenges of my study and personal life this week perfectly, I will really be over the moon. Now the time will tell, if I can complete the challenge or not. The last week I had to burn the candle at both ends because of family functions. NOW ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS. ( I used all the idioms from the video except one. All of these idoms you taught in this video are useful in daily life and in all situations. So basically All of them are my fav. I LOVED HOW YOU TAUGHT THE PRONUNCIATION TIPS. THAT IS VERY UNIQUE OF YOU.❤ KEEP GOING. TAKE CARE.)
I love "to be in the same boat". I learned in my child, "nip the evill in the bud" . Very formative video. I like the idiom, "to have a lot on your plate." This really applys fully on me, I have lot on my plate throughout the week, 6 days a week. Your are simply the best
Hi Katharine, thank you so much for such informative and useful videos! They're full of fresh, natural English. I've been waiting for so long to learn idioms and phrases that are ACTUALLY used by the natives. You hit the nail on the head! 🙂👏🏼👍🏼 I remember all my non-native English teachers going on and on about 'it's raining cats and dogs ' idiom, how important it is ect.and it turns out it's so obsolete and rarely used. Keep up the good work! Thanks a million!💝

Hi, Katherine, I love your videos. That's why I try to watch your videos every single day. Your positive energy reflects on me. Thanks for your lovely work. I am waiting for the next videos.
Hallo Katharine. Thank you for this lovely video. Thinking of idioms: "killing 2 birds with 1 stone" comes to my mind. As a retired veterinarian this idiom always irritated me, because to me the british people seemed to be the most passionate birdwatchers and most militant protectors of animal rights. In Germany we have a somewhat similar idiom meaning "killing 2 flies with 1 strike" which to me seems less aggresive - at least against vertebrate animals.😉

I remember studying idioms for Cambridge exams. There was a whole book devoted to them called English idioms in use but it seems like an artificial use meant to fulfill a pattern established by examiners.
