By the time this woman arrived they were disregarding protocol stating to quickly confront active shooters, staying out of the line of fire and not confronting a gunman actively and audibly killing 2nd thru 4th graders.

They were waiting for a tactical team since first responders didn't have proper equipment to breach the door that led to the shooter. But that's a lame excuse. Why weren't first responders trained and equipped especially when there were arrests made 4 yrs ago? Two people in Uvalde were arrested for threatening to carry out a school shooting. Smells fishy.
Imagine being held back from attempting to save your own child. I would have a grudge towards police for the rest of my life!

The police, as reports have stated, were recently trained in active shooter drills. They are expected to put their lives on the line to stop the shooter. Instead, the police were detaining parents and having a pow wow on what to do. Parents are screaming, crying, and begging for the police to do something. Kids are calling 911 and being shot dead. So what the Ulvade police are looking more and more like are the San Francisco police department. That being glorified meter readers who show up at their own time and place. Or, if you are in San Jose, you have police officers literally jerking off in public.
The love of a mother is probably the strongest force in the universe. What a hero! I was on the edge of my seat listening to her account of what happened.

She was on probation the cops threatened her that they would violate her if she spoke out she had to go in front of a judge to make sure that she wouldn't be violated. The judge told her that she would not be violated and the she is a hero.

The parents were begging the cops for vests so they could go in. The police, and I'm not anti police, blew it on this one. No wonder they stopped cooperation with the investigation. Listen to this woman!!! 😔
this interview leaves out the part where ms gomez states that she began receiving calls threatening her to stop talking to the media, otherwise she’d somehow be in violation of her probation. can you imagine?? trying to stifle this fierce little mom who clearly has more _cojones_ than all the officers who were on standby that day. i’m happy she managed to rescue both her boys.

It’s absolutely absurd that the cops didn’t have the urgency to rescue the kids as this mom did; even with no armor this mom wasn’t afraid! Unreal that all those cops listened to the officer in charge to not go in and help those kids begging and calling 911.

Just like doctors and nurses take an oath to care for their patients, police officers take an oath to “protect and serve”. These police officers failed terribly. They will have to live with their cowardliness for the rest of their lives. They will probably lose the respect and trust from the Uvalde community if they haven’t already. She is one brave woman. She fled from the fields where she was picking crops, to the school where her children are possibly being shot to death;
fought off layers of police while being handcuffed and wrestled by those who are the "protectors";
so she could run into the school to save her own children as well as other people's children, because the police are bullies and cowards ONLY.
THEN, after being alone with NO "protectors" securing the safety of her own children and others, she goes back to crop fields to finish picking for the day.

Ms. Gomez is very brave and I am glad to have stubbled on this interview as I read of this story before but couldn't find more sources on it.
So many questions:
How did shooter get in the building? Door was closed but it failed to lock seems to be the latest version by the cops.
How did the mother get into the building? Another unlocked door?
Did she rescue 2 separate classrooms in entirety or did she only get her own kids and the teachers kept the rest of the kids in the classrooms?
Protocol is to NOT answer\unlock classrooms until police or principals knock on each individual door(thus the teachers should not have responded to the mother knocking on the door)
Many protocols were not followed here.... And as far as the local police.... They are seemingly all cowards and it took federal officers to end this.
so from what I understood, when she got to the first classroom and she saw the officers coming in after her, she told the teacher to get the rest of the kids out along with her son and when he got to the second sons classroom that’s when the officers got to her and the teacher opened the door so she went to get her second son out and I assume that class came out too.

Kudos to Mama Bear! I live in San Antonio about an hour and a half east of where this occurred. Shame on local police in Uvalde for their costly and horrific Delays and cowardliness .

What an embarrassment! Trying to get a mom trying to get her kids from danger! Yet can’t get the one causing the danger!? Ridiculous! Justice for these kids! Justice for the parents held back to do the same! The whole police department if one could have done something I’m sure others would have followed! But they all stuck together not doing a thing!
