Ren purchased the rights to use the exact sample that Moby used on his Natural Blues Album from 1999, it was Vera Hall, Trouble So Hard 1937. Ren personally mixed this track on his own from top to bottom adding the guitar licks, percussion and strings as well as all the synths with the distortions created by altering the vocals in the sample itself. The actual sample by Vera Hall has no instrumental whatsoever. You can pull it up the original sample by Vera Hall on RUclips and take a listen for yourself. Ren has a short on his channel that shows him producing parts of this track and what methods he used to get certain sounds. 🔥🔥👍.
The sample was Vera Hall's Troubles So Hard. It means a lot to Ren, particularly the line "Don't nobody know my troubles but God". Ren created the cool "synth" sound you hear in the background, by applying a tuner and filter to the vocal sample (he has a short video showing how he did it - very cool)
The 8 chapters / life stories he spoke in the days before the release of this track was sad but also so inspiring. This song is a culmination of those chapters. Great reaction guys ❤
Thank you for understanding why this is so important for so many people, and helping Ren spread this message of awareness, support, and hope. He didn't make the charts with the song because streaming skews it so much, but it was the 10th most downloaded single that week. ❤
Ren put a cry for help up on his channel The stem cell Dr found him and gave him 25000 dollars of treatment free if he could get to LA He stayed with other kind patients who lived there. He put out music to help pay fares
You guys are great. Thank you for your reaction. I live this song! The beat is awesome. Leasing up to this release, hw posted Missing Chapters 1-8 which is him reading the truth he wote about gis 8 yrsr nightmare No need to react ro it. But well worth watching! Just think guys, you coyld kbow almost as much as we do!❤❤❤ Some parts are gut wrenching, and some funny...but dudes....such an inspiration
Fine reaction and thoughtful comments. Ren has such a gift for composing and storytelling. I marvel at his creativity. React to Ren’s Back on 74/message in a Bottle sometime. He will surprise you (again).
Great reaction. You're correct that he's so much better, and he's still (will always?) be dealing with the consequences. Not only is there no cure for most autoimmune diseases (like Lyme when it's left untreated), but Ren developed MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) and organ damage (like his brain). Brain damage isn't reversible, but the treatment he's trying in Canada right now will hopefully grow new neural pathways to compensate. MCAS more-or-less means his body acts as if it's allergic to a lot, from stress to food. At best, it's manageable (like having a severely restricted diet), but MCAS sufferers have to be hypervigilant about their triggers and avoid them. Love this song.
The limo wasn’t scripted, it was serendipity… that’s why he smiles 😊
And also probably why he doesn’t get in it and continues walking in the snow.

Great reaction.
Ren dosen't flex about money. My hunch is that he had one eye on who's pulling up behind him. Didn't grow up rich. Much love ❤️ Sue
