Amazing a club like that waiting 29 years to do renovations.

If it's built right they last a long time, it takes a lot of money to do a renovation and the members bought into it.

@chosen1one930 they have the money. A few million isn't anything compared to other clubs in south Florida. I wonder how many times the clubhouse was done in 29 years.

Composite materials lining bunkers, drainage system, tonnes of sand moved onto fairways, retaining walls, and more. It's insane the resources that go into these ridiculous American golf courses. In Scotland, England, Wales and more, it's the land and the terrain that define the course. Not the course defining the land.

I couldn't disagree with your comment more. They move land also on links golf courses, they also have drainage, they place sod bunkers everywhere with the sod walls lining the bunkers. The things that you believe are retaining walls on American courses are not walls, it's just the lip we cut out on bunkers or golf greens this defines them, the only place we have retaining walls might be on ponds like tpc sawgrass where they have wood lining all the ponds lakes but on most golf courses it's just a simple graduated slope into the water not a straight drop. If you watch links golf course renovation you will notice they cut out bunkers the same way, golf course management and maintenance is the same, do american courses slope fairways more yes but this is how we have golf courses, the same is done on links courses just far less, they top dress fairways greens and tee, they do the same maintenance practices also. Links courses also use the same billy bunkers linings or other products it's the standard now. You should really research something before commenting buddy because the tons of sand, resources etc go into links courses, noob
