Just found my way here to this amazing live version of Alice's song from watching The Resident on Netflix. It was the perfect accompaniment to a scene in which a doctor whose character is the moral center of the show is sitting alone in a hospital room gathering himself after watching a young boy pass from leukemia. This beautiful melancholy song was so perfect for that moment. Heartbeat had set the mood and not crying was impossible.
FYI - for those who wanted to see its use on the show...Netflix, The Resident, S2 Ep5 the child passes at 36:00, then after FFwd. to 40:50 when Heartbeat plays.
We drove down from Cheshire in heavy snow and ice, travelled across London from a AirBnB in worsening conditions and made it to St Pancras Old Church in time to enjoy a fantastic concert. The return journey the following day was even worse but so worth it just to finally see Alice Boman live. Looking forward to Alice and the band in concert at Gullivers, Manchester a week on Thursday (8 December).
Alice as you know put on a great show at Gullivers. I travelled from Wolverhampton to see her. It was great to speak to Alice after the gig. She is not aware how talented she is.
I saw Alice and her band play this week at Union Chapel in London. Sublime! I love the way that the flugelhorn adds a melancholic touch to the music. Thank you.
