This is absolutely everything you could ever ask for in vocal performance. The music is stunning, the words speak deep in your heart, Terfel's voice is pure gold, and Sissel's that of an angel.
It is DIAMONDS Try to search for Saknadens rum and then you Will find a version of this in Swedish with Benny Andersson, Helen Sjöholm and a really professional choir
Glorious music, words; glorious voices and a lovely combination of Bryn and Sissel. Love the depth of Bryn's voice and the crystal clarity of Sissel's voice.
Oh my, what a wonderful song so beautifully sung by Bryn and Sissel. Her voice comes in so restrained and controlled with that heavenly tone. Does not get any better than this.
One of the best three or four baritones in the world paired with the most glorious female voice in the world. It does not get better than this. Wow!!!!
Thank you, Bryn and Sissel, for lifting Give me my song higher and sending it deeper than anyone else could. . .and thank you, Benny, for a music beyond all words
Just beautiful. I love Sissel. She's from my home town of Bergen Norway. I would love to see a live video of this. She has so many beautiful songs that we can see on RUclips. But if you want to see her pure emotion, look up Sissel's version of "Slow Down". It's with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Doesn't matter your religion or no religion, it's a powerful emotional piece. You will be in tears, I guarantee. And as for Bryn...what can I say? The most amazing baratone alive.
Had the privilege of singing this song with my Melbourne-based choir the Maroondah Singers, although not as well as Bryn and Sissel. Was amazed to know it was written by Abba man Benny Andersson. What a magnificent contribution that group made to music.
A beautiful song with a great singer Bryn Terfel. If that wasn't enough, you get Sissel with it. What a great gift this is for the listener. Your biggest fan, thank you.
Been listening to this much today. I recently lost a friend whose voice was almost as perfect as Bryn Terfel. He was a humble man with a gift which he shared openly everywhere - he was just 68 when he died. The last line "I am a song ....." is how I think of him now.
I am not often brought to tears by a musical rendition, but this duet is simply sublime. Their voices blend so well, but shouldn’t, as The soprano voice is supposed to partner a tenor more appropriately. I cant stop listening to it!
Ian Barron is right! This is so lovely! I thought my favorite Sissel duet was "Upp gladjest alle, gladjest no" with Odd Nordstoga. This song has taken first place as a favorite. Sissel is such a generous performer. She brings out the best in others without upstaging them. Love her, just love her!
Pardon the philosophical bent... I don't understand how a human being can produce such a beautiful sound. I understand all the practice, lessons, etc. but, I still think it is a miracle. A miracle until I hear myself sing then I realize the miracle is bestowed on the few not the many. :)
john47742 So true, yet we who cannot sing can still feel blessed by those who are kind to share it with us. Listen to this song again and feel the blessing of the GIFT of Music.
BOB No amount of training or technique can produce the rare quality of both these singers. They have both got got naturally exceptional voices, improved by practice. A heavenly combination!
I first heard this after buying "Homeward Bound" a number of years ago and just fell in love with it straight away. It has remained one of my favourite pieces of music ever since. I'm a big fan of Bryn Terfel (a fellow Welshman) and Sissel's voice is just so pure and so clear.
Excellent singers! You just can't get any better! As they say Sissel has the voice of an angel. Bryan Terfel absolutely one of the best baritones. I love is high ranges. Just beautiful!
Well - what more can be said. Just pure and wonderful music. Raises my spirit and warms my soul. I am so grateful such talents are on earth when I am and that modern technology enables me to enjoy their art.
There seem to be 20 stone deaf people out there who gave this a thumbs down. What a great pity that they can not hear these wonderful performers. I am very sad for them. They miss so much.
Agree with you Steve Calkin, I have just finished Mirrowen, loved the story. This song is so ethereal I can close my eyes and live the book. Now for the Muirwood trilogy.
Never heard this song before, but any song sung by Bryn and Sissel has to be beautiful. They always sound great together. Thank you for introducing me to some new music.
I also came to this song as a result of the recommendation of Jeff Wheeler at the end of his "Whispers From Mirowen Trilogy" - excellent books. Thank you Mermaids in Motion for writing out the lyrics.
Your voices are the bridges to all these wonderful tales and imaginations. But your eyes, dear Sissel, your steady look seriously , friendly and calm makes that we take our heart along.
Bryn saved the best for last in his lastest album "Homeward Bound". His vocal interpretation on the album cannot not be surpassed by any of of great albums that have come before, although as wonderful as they are. Bryn stands as the greatest most versatile bass-baritone of our time! And having Sissel sing this great song with him is the "icing on the cake".
Funny how you find music sometimes. I just finished an excellent series of books by Jeff Wheeler (Whispers From Mirrowen). In his author notes at the end of the final book he talks about this song being a perfect match for part of the book "one of the most haunting melodies I'd ever heard". That was enough to make me track it down, and he was right. Thank you Jeff, and thanks for the excellent books.
I couldn't find the lyrics online anywhere so I will type them here as I listen to them. +Mermaids In Motion Thank you so much! That is a public service! There were some words I just couldn't make out -- maybe the sound quality on my machine wasn't clear enough.
Thank you very much indeed. I love this song! If you read the books "Dryad Born" and "Poisenwell" by Jeff Wheeler, you will find two characters, Shion and Phae, who fit the bill almost exactly. They are the second and third books in his Fireblood Archive. Highly recommended.

For those that are critical of Sissel's lack of power in her voice, I believe this an example of when she needs to do so, she can quite easily. She certainly holds her own here with Bryn.
Correct lyrics from the sheet music! Tell me, where did my song go? Where is my sorrow, my deep desire? I had a star once that I could follow; My heart was clear as water. Find me, for I have lost you; The roads will lead me, The trees will guide me. I was a child and I knew the music That made the birds fly... This duet it is simply one of THE most stunning songs ever !!
Ian Barron Have u heard Sissel & Darryl Tookes duet yet? Recorded in 2014 NYC
Just amazing, I can’t get enough of this song and combination of the choir into the duet. Just sublime!
A real masterpiece. I Wish there were more contemporary artists possessing such talent.
Great music with two great singers who know how to express the lyrics. The song touches the soul!
Wish we saw more of Mr. Terfel in the States. Would love to see a special on PBS with the two of them. DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is music. How could anyone listen to the garbage they play on radio today. Beautiful Bryn, beautiful Sissel, beautiful Benny!
Pardon the philosophical bent...

I agree 100%. Recently heard Bryn Terfel in concert live and unplugged - there are no words for this voice.
john47742 So true, yet we who cannot sing can still feel blessed by those who are kind to share it with us. Listen to this song again and feel the blessing of the GIFT of Music.
Agreed....that angelic voice is otherworldly....a truly beautiful and amazing gift.

We are blessed to have these two in our world.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you.
One of the most beautiful song sung by 2 beautiful voices.

When I was a wee child this song became the underscore and melody of my life...Give Me My Song. I Am My Soul. ♡
Unbelievable how these two wonderful singers compliment each other. Beautiful song! Brava!!!!!!
Zeer mooi nummer, prachtige vertolking en schitterende muziek. Uitstekende zangers met gevoel. Mooie tekst.
Bravo!
Well - what more can be said. Just pure and wonderful music. Raises my spirit and warms my soul. I am so grateful such talents are on earth when I am and that modern technology enables me to enjoy their art.
Perhaps the most beautiful duet I have ever listened to. Bravo
Thank you for this awesome song....reminding me about "Songs my Mother taught me"...and reminding me... I have a song...
There seem to be 20 stone deaf people out there who gave this a thumbs down. What a great pity that they can not hear these wonderful performers. I am very sad for them. They miss so much.
They are the Jenkins, Westenra and, particularly, Dion brigade, who love Celine so and unnaturally hate to see any other singer rival their paramour.
Agree with you Steve Calkin, I have just finished Mirrowen, loved the story. This song is so ethereal I can close my eyes and live the book.
Now for the Muirwood trilogy.
Gorgouse singing, wonderful song.
Long Live the singers Brynand Sissel and the composer Benny Andersson.
Bravissimi entrambi.Grandiosi👍👍❤️🍀🥰. GRAZIE.🧡
Found Bryn from listening to Sissel. Love this combination. Two beautiful souls with gorgeous voices. Amazing.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you. Scotty (Iowa) USA
Never heard this song before, but any song sung by Bryn and Sissel has to be beautiful. They always sound great together. Thank you for introducing me to some new music.
Oh happiness! A beautiful new song sung by Sissel and Bryn Terfel! They are SO good!!
My three favorite voices together (Sissel, Bryn Terfel, and the Tabernacle Choir)?
Have I died and gone to heaven?
Very sensitive and expressive! A song with a lot of feeling!
Oh, Thanks God!
Awesome! their voice is matching perfect.
I really love it even want to buy it if I find the CD or DVD.
I wish there was a video of this incredible duo.
Gosh, her voice, pure bliss!
I also came to this song as a result of the recommendation of Jeff Wheeler at the end of his "Whispers From Mirowen Trilogy" - excellent books. Thank you Mermaids in Motion for writing out the lyrics.

Another duet including the sublime enchanting Sissel 💚

Thanks ever so much for including, for all of us, the lyrics to this beautiful song.
Thank you. The words are beautiful as is the rendition.

Simply stunning!
I love this combination of singers...of course it helps that I'm part Norwegian and part Welsh.
Beauty and talent have found you and you are such a gracious host.
too stunning for words. A must hear and see.
Sissel and Bryn have collaborated in 5 or six songs and their voices complement each other so well that i would love for them to produce a cd.

A sublime moment in time to be forever cherished
Music for the soul
This is very brilliant rendition
I have looked for this arrangement score but can't find them anywhere.
This is heavenly melody.
Beautiful duo
For those that are critical of Sissel's lack of power in her voice, I believe this an example of when she needs to do so, she can quite easily. She certainly holds her own here with Bryn.
Watch her live recording of In Dreams. She belts it out like in no other song.
this is originally "Saknadens Rum" the masterpiece of Benny Andersson , it's even more beautiful than "the winner takes it all" !
Jeff Wheeler sent me. Glad I came.
Same. Thanks Jeff.
Me too ...
Wheeler sent me too!!
No, I'm not a Mormon.
Brilliant song and performances by these two, but let us not forget Dimitri Hvorovtoskl. He was also a great baritone, sadly lost to us all last year.

Grand singing and singers
There should be a video of this. It would be incredible.

Is it fair for the best looking woman in the world to also be its best soprano? Is that fair?
It's called a syzygy... an unlikely alignment of the planets... nature showing off as to what it can do.
It sounds like ABBA thanks to Benny Anderson
Very Nice but the original in swedish are better. Search Saknadens rum/ kärlekens tid. Its two songs here turned into one
