Dean was acting you fool it was an act

Dean was not an alcoholic, anyone with a brain can see that. He would never, ever have been as successful as he was if he'd been an alcoholic. Jerry Lewis had drinking and substance abuse problems, especially later in life, but not Dean.
NBC wouldn't have paid him the astronomical sums they paid him if he'd been a drunk. He would not have been a successful high-end golfer, he wouldn't have had a successful movie career, a recording career, nor would he have been raising Andalusian horses, and training them.
Dean did not have the body or the skin of an alcoholic, had beautiful skin, healthy body, the only thing he did that was addictive and bad for his health was smoking - and even so, he lived to be 78 with lung cancer, untreated.

The drunkeness was an act. Not a teetotaler, but not a big drinker, either. Great guy and much loved in the business.

Well, Greg is there to give us a behind the scenes exclusive to help us understand how talented and great Dean really was. This one doesn't quite show the joy Greg had while working with Dean but once you've seen the other excerpts it makes much more sense.

You have to change the playback speed to 1.25 because someone uploaded these at a slower speed to make Dean appear more sloshed.

He didn't drink when working and didn't drink much when not working. People liked the shtick and it sort of went with his loose singing style. And he only worked 1 day per week with minimal rehearsal, thus mistakes.
